Recently reached level 50 - a little help please

Hey guys. I have recently reached level 50 on all of my crafters and I need a little advice on where I should start in terms of getting new gear to improve my stats.
I currently have the i55 main hand relic for each class, and I had an FC friend make me an HQ Artisans Apron. I have also managed to craft 2 HQ Aetheryte Rings for myself. I have a few pieces of i55 Green left side pieces, but they are just what I received from my retainers while levelling up and not what I made myself. I haven't melded any of my gear yet.

Any suggestions on what would be a good place to start? I have the GSM, LTW and BSM demimateria books unlocked. Would getting all the i55 accesories and then melding them be a good place to begin? Thanks in advance for your help.

What I would do is.. Get your right side accessories made. You'll have trouble, just ask an FC member to make it for you. Then get them melded.

Then, buy or make a full set of Culinarian left side gear. Minus the chest since you have the apron. Which will allow you to make the spicy tomato relish, 2 star token for artisan gear and tool.
Get all your artisan gear from Talan using the tokens. Then you'll be near BiS on all your gear minus the tools. That should bring you up to 2 stars on all, 3 stars with supra upgrade..
Make some money at that point, then start replacing your token artisan gear with the crafted artisan pieces and meld them.. That'll be BiS, then it's to working on your supra then lucis tools..

Ah ok, thank you for the advice. What should I do for the offhand tools? Get the i55 ones?

Also, I forgot to mention that I have the Ehcatl Smithing Gloves as well.

Yes, you can stick to Militia offhands for a while, you can still get to 3 stars easily without artisan offhands and as for 4 stars, there really isn't too much you can make with the jump, not to mention the manual II tokens. Unless you have a decent stockpile of gil, you'll find the manual II tokens to be costly so you won't be working on that right away.

You won't see a huge productive output by getting to 4 stars. i.e. 4 star recipes aren't where the money's at, so it's not really necessary to get that right away.

As said above, get the accessories first. Work on obtaining the artisan's specs. Meld your accessories and apron.

But here is a nice way to avoid buying any crafting AF. http://www.garytay.net/ffxiv-craftin...crafting-gear/

This setup is 2.1 BiS and can turn out 2 star items. Just HQ yourself and meld the Patrician's bottom and gaiters. You have the apron and Ixal hands, you will have the specs, and will have all iL55 accessories.

Edit: If you can afford the Artisan's offhands get them, if not Militia with one or two melds will do 2 star and let you attempt 3 star.

Logged in my crafting gear. All save the main and offhand is currently BiS and fully melded. Check it out.

Thanks, that was very helpful I have melded a little of my gear, but unfortunately don't have the cash to fully over meld just yet. I need to find something easy to craft that sells for a lot...

But my stats are high enough now (with food) to craft the Spicy Tomato Relish. I already have my Artisans Specs and I'm going to work on getting the token legs and feet next I think. I know they aren't BIS, but they are a big upgrade on my Patricians stuff so they will be a good stop gap for now. Especially as they don't cost any gil.

If you can get yourself sealants from ixal dailies, you can ask someone to make you the artisan offhand. While you can reach the 2 or 3 stars recipes without the artisan offhand, the offhand will let you do so without having to fully meld most of your gears or accessories (they are the cheapest upgrade i can think of as alternative for melding). After that you can try get the artisan main hand tool.

If you can do two star NQ you can bypass the artisan and go straight for Supra.

There really isn't much incentive to do so though, because artisan tools are very affordable to get, AND you can desynth most of it later depending on which desynth classes you take.

It'll help out with the manual II token crafts also, so I always get my artisan tools.

Also, the stats difference between an Artisan tool and a Supra is not that big. I'd only recommend going for a Supra if you intend to upgrade it right away to a Lucis (or if you have a lot of money) since each Supra takes 10 FCIIIs and 3 MCs. ^^
