    1.0's level of visuals would be more than perfectly fine with today's level of hardware (I can achieve a stable 100 FPS on the 1.0 benchmark, 140+ when indoors), but you have to keep in mind that it was released 5 years ago and the average laptop could not run it. Their goal is to get as many customers as possible, having even somewhat high requirements will cut into your potential customers. They can't exactly revamp ARR in its entirety either to support upgraded visuals, as it's running on a gutted Luminous engine and would take an extreme amount of effort to rebuilt it on anything else (not happening). Can't say how difficult it would be to implement 1.0's running animations though, running animations or not, the game feels extremely floaty but that goes for 90% of MMOs and I don't think switching around running animations will fix that.

    Considering the animation movements currently are not the same compared to 1.0, I wouldn't say it would be added "without any problem". To have movement be totally different outside combat compared to in-combat means a lot of new alterations to however they're doing their current anim trees, which would probably be significant work to re-implement and then to properly test across all types/races of characters.

    In terms of immersion, I would much rather them add more to our rather scarce supply of nuanced emotes and persistent facial expressions. I'd personally really like several more sets of persistent expressions that would actually stay on rather than what currently happens where they stay on for maybe 5 seconds and then go back to that flat boring default face. More battle /cpose stances would be desirable as well, other than just the one alt battle pose. And these would be things added directly onto the existing emote system, not something that would demand a total rework of how it functions.

    Oh I completely understand that but then I am one of those who truely misses 1.0, I was very ill back then so i never got to play as much as I wanted but I never let my subscription lapse where as with ARR I have a few times.
