    A lot of the things people seem to miss from 1.0 are the graphics (along with some story elements). When PS3 support gets discontinued, they can do more with this game's graphics engine without worrying about PS3s everywhere exploding.

    Something to look forward to.

    Didn't the game perform so horribly back then because of the god-awful optimization? Rather than the graphics. The graphics played their part, though.

    Yeah, it was more bad optimizations for an engine that didn't seem to be designed for a PC let alone an MMO. Then there was the early release to beat Cataclysm causing bugs everywhere. On the graphic side, the models had high poly counts even for mundane things which chugged GPUs. Animations themselves aren't graphically intensive.

    Ah, the short lived December reopening. If only people cared enough about 1.0 back then, you couldv'e been running around in old Ul'dah to this day.

    Ah yes another who seems to forget that the December reopening would not save data on anything you did and really there was no point in playing. Ask yourself this, how many would be playing ARR right now if they were told every time the logged off their character would revert back to what it was when they logged on and you would never progress beyond where you are now? If you think it was more than logged in back then you are fooling yourself.

    Despite all the love for 2.0, yeah I miss it too . I hope 2.0 recaptures some more of its animation aesthetics one day.

    From my perspective all I see are unnecessary flourishes that would go right out the window when streamlining the game. I can't help but remember the infamous flower pot when i see that run animation.
