    Titan Extreme question

Is latency a common issue on Titan Extreme? I recently did Titan Extreme for the first time and was nervous given its reputation (and I've been playing since beta, lol), and to my surprise it was much easier than its reputation. I actually think it is the easiest of all the extreme primals and I've beaten all of them except Ifrit Extreme (since I need Titan first) and Shiva Extreme (have yet to try) My first run I made it to 15% as my best record, plus the first run was the only one I died a few times due to mistake I made being new to fight and stuff, and every run since I never get hit due to a mistake I made and end up being last one alive with a tank. But when I do die, it's usually from a mistake other players made (such as releasing me from gaol right when a landslide goes, or not stacking so I am unable to get out of plumes which cover half of arena, and no sprint option as DRG, and Elusive Jump not an option due to CD and is usually not needed when you expect people know what they are doing) or every 2 runs there is a latency problem, such as being safe and still getting hit, aoes showing up extremely late so they instantly go off moment they appear, or sudden freezing then everything speeds up, or 1 landslide appearing when there are actually 3 at same time so I think I'm safe, then other 2 show up second later as it goes off, etc.

Over the game's lifetime when I heard about latency issues in TEX I just assumed only people with bad connections have the issues, but my internet is anything but bad. I never have latency issues anywhere outside Titan extreme, except when there are server lag issues that very rarely happens while in CT. Basically what I'm wanting to know is whether the latency thing is linked to the TEX fight itself, or if maybe it is a server thing just like it is in raids since not everyone is experiencing it. But if it is a server thing, then why haven't I had this issue on other primals?

Possible SE tried to make that place with the least amount of lag possible since thats what people complain about

Titan Ex is alot easier than it used to be thanks to people being vastly over geared for it. I dont think theres something special about Titan that makes people lag more just that its more noticable because of the punishing mechanics. Plus some people use lag as an excuse when they make mistakes.

Well, that's rather disappointing that the lag is from TEX itself rather than bad connection or server issue. -_- And here I thought as long as you know the fight and do not have a bad connection, then you'd be fine. I was clearly wrong. Luckily it doesn't happen every fight, but still very annoying. The worst part is people that think it is an excuse for dying, and it isn't. So on someone else's screen it might look like you weren't out on time while on yours you were. For example, I was out of a set of plumes in one case so quickly that I had enough time to perform an attack on Titan after I was safe before the plumes went off, then mysteriously died, so it wasn't even a case of barely got out. Basically I wasn't even running. I stopped outside plumes and attacked. The only explanation was that one or two of the plumes was not showing on my screen, so I was still standing in a couple and not knowing it, just like the invisible landslide that happened once.

The only thing that can make titan being laggy is in any circumstances the party manage to touch %hp in a pair attacks of titan ex, thus forcing a phase change (e.g. Breaking the heart when he cast granite gaol, thus making landslide pop at the same time or after earthen fury) while of course the cast time of the attack itself still retain the same..

The very core to the problem to titan ex would be that it's so easy for the players to die and thus, out of the battle in case got landslided.. Hence one would need a stable latency and dodging in titan ex..

The lag itself isn't from TEX. Even at 300 ping you dont need to check the aoe marker and cast bar consistency. It's either your internet is fast enough to be able to dodge on reaction or your internet is slow enough that you need to pre-dodge the weight of the lands (this is the 300 latency) a micro second earlier but in both cases you should be able to dodge with both conditions all the time as long as your latency is stable. Meaning 100 is always 100 with little no packet drops, 300 is always 30 with little no packet drops.

If you are experiencing unstable 'gameplay' that means either your connection is unstable or the server is. But if the server is unstable, most likely everyone in the party would be experience the same. Personally, I think playing on 200 ping with 0 packet loss is still better than playing on sub 100 ping with random and possibly significant packet losses. Your connection might not be as excellent as you think. Try a longer duration ping test.

I am vastly overgeared for the fight, I know that fight by memory, I easily can move before things happens because I know when they happens, but I still being slided down every now and then, because the game let me see the safe spot when it is too late. Heck, slides happened with the low level duty too...

My fault is not have a first class internet as some priviledged players have. Sorry to bring the bad news, but not all countries are so much developed on internet lines. Yes someone will calls 'lag' to cover poor dodging, but a lot just have to deal with it.

I have done Titan HM a lot. Grind it out. Whenever a Plume starts to appear above my head, I am 100% sure I will get hit by it EVEN IF on my screen, I'm out of the range for the last 3 seconds.

So when I saw the Titan EX fight, I just literally gave up on the Extreme fights.

    Stack for the plumes? lol

100%, guarenteed death for me right there

It's not Titan that causes the lag. It's some bad node in the route between you and the server that is either spiking your latency or dropping packets or such. All "lag" in this game pretty much becomes nonexistent if you're using WTFast, but that's because it's routing you differently. It sucks that you have to do that, but such is life.
