Primal Datacenter, Which GC for Frontlines?

I'm Maelstrom and Adders has been winning most matches that I have been a part of.

The wait times are ~20min on the weekdays but very short on the weekends. I was getting 1min pops last night. Maelstrom normally is good, maybe I've been in unlucky groups. People have claimed 30+ Mael wins this week.

I really don't know where people get this "Maelstrom for wins" mentality. Are we on the same Primal Datacenter? Maelstrom plays abysmal in both Slaughter and Secure. It seems to attract the players that rather bash their head against the PLDs and WARs that ran up 1st instead of going after squishier targets half a dozen yalms away. Every Secure I get into (low-man now'a'days, mind you), people seem stuck on "only stay @ our OP and run up for drones (and still hang around after they're all dead)" mentality and then proceed to completely forget to return for big node.

I also can't recall a time in Slaughter where we're coordinated enough to stack Cometeors the same way I've been seeing Flames and Adders abusing it.
