    Failure By SE to Act on Harassment Complaints

    2 days running now, I've turned in harassment complaints through the in game "Contact Us/Harassment complaint" system. Specifically repetitively spammed friend requests by a player named "Ggatm'com Sellgilfabn" on the Adamantoise server that stays permanently logged in.
    The only thing SE does is respond idiotically with the Status Quo statement of -

    "Hello and thank you for your GM call.
    We understand <snipped usual text response> the chat box.
    This is only meant to be a temporary resolution while we investigate, and you can remove them from your blacklist in the future once we have had time to complete our investigative process.
    thank you for your patience and understanding while we work to create a more enjoyable and advertisement free environment in which you can enjoy Final Fantasy XIV.
    FINAL FANTASY XIV Game Master Team"

    Do you think SE actually even reads the reports let alone even in a time manner does anything about harassment?

    They seem to read them, unless they have a system in place that somehow detects which bits of information you didn't Include. I reported an AFK-light-leecher in T4 and got a copy&paste response a few minutes later saying they'll start investigating once I provide the missing info, namely the approximate time of the incident. After I provided that, I got another copy&paste message claiming they'll investigate. Someone must've read the report to notice I didn't add the time.

    Everyone gets the friend requests from the "sellgil" accounts.

    S-E do know about it, do investigate and do ban the accounts, but more of them are constantly being created by the spammer seller groups.

    I just met the same mining bot I and friends of mine reported over the course of over 6 months today. Don't expect quick action, as sad as that is to say.

    We all feel your pain. I refuse to file under cheating as it's suggested by their layout and also file under harassment as it is nothing short of that. It's like I give the RMT spammer the one benefit of the doubt PM. Maybe just maybe I am interested in buying gil. How are they to know unless they ask right?

    But it's the fact that they create alternates to respam you again and again AND again because they know you've blocked them and are not interested. They purposefully circumvent the block to harass you again and again AND again to try and sell you gil that you obviously don't fucking want.

    There are laws against companies for doing this and there have been court cases won against establishments that consistently try and bully people into buying things. Ofc these are not legit companies we are dealing with and many if not all fall outside of the jurisdictions that grant such protections to people.

    That however is no excuse for Square Enix to not bring the hammer down on these "businesses" with extreme prejudice. It's just unruly for a paid subscription title to be so helpless it protecting its consumer from this type of unwarranted abuse. Paid MMO's are supposed to have the leg up in this department simply because there is a monthly cost that goes towards upkeep and quality assurance.

    Fucking sad... point blank period.

    Last time I reported a gill seller, the contact support message would not remove off my screen. I went into the support message folder, and closed all the open requests, but it kept spamming me for at least 2 days.

    So not only did I have to deal with the gil spammer, but the support reply from sqenix too spamming me.

    I'm actually having to deal with that myself. I've had messages last up to a week before about a 'support reply', and I've even reported it in game, and to multiple GMs.

    Dealing with this exact thing right now. How ironic to report for spam just to be spammed by the very people who are there to fix it..

    Well looking at recent events in American society dealing with the commonfolk and authorities. Maybe this only makes common sense. .
