I've been laughing at this post for almost a month lol.Sorry, I had enough seeing what you call "men" with long bright hair running everywhere looking like strippers lol. FFXIV is a game for battling and not a summer catwalk.
And FYI, I'm not a macho-wannabe. These are my features in real life whether you like it or not, and it's a request to have them in game. Not everyone was born smooth like you.
Ahh, it gets me every time. Oh man. -Wipes tear; Whew.
I'm always in favor of more options but the Japanese, and Asian countries in general, don't like large hairy ugly men. If I remember correctly, not even WoW's gorilla-like human males had hairy chest so you'll not likely be getting them here unless a LOT of people ask for it.

Even though I have no interest in ever playing a male character, I'm all for more options. I'm not one of those girls that prefers a male character, but I can understand some peoples wants.
There is nothing wrong with the OP's request. I can see how the wording could be interpreted since the idea of what's masculine or feminine varies by culture, country, and individual, but I'm sure he did not mean any negative towards those with differing views. He just simply would prefer more body/facial hair options.
I think the PS3 might be the reason they haven't done it yet. There are many things they'd like to do that they can't do until they drop PS3 support. They originally said PS3 support would be dropped by the time first expansion came, but they apparently extended it. So maybe Heavensward will be the first and last expansion for PS3 support. Once they drop PS3 the quality of the game will sky rocket, so an already great game will be even better.

Hairy is not necessarily manly. Well, they could add body tattoos/marks and put in there few hairs choice with body tats, scars and all so it'd make everybody happy.
While for beard, didn't they say that there will be new beards in HW?
