While the amount is very dependent on testosterone it is not dependent on if you are a man or a woman. I know it seems kind of like semantics but it is very important for many people's self worth for us to get away from such arbitrary values. Many people treat biology as if it deals with absolutes which is far from the truth.
Well, I wasn't arguing if women in FFXIV should have body hair or not (I don't care too much), rather your comment on "masculinity in nature" doesn't exist which is false. It rustled my jimmies so to speak. Much of the appearance of masculinity literally stems from nature. You are grabbing at the edge cases when these terms are used to describe the general human population. It's the equivalent of saying that the definition that humans have two arms is wrong because some people are born with only one. Speaking of exclusion, you seemed to be all for excluding this group's opinion or wants in this post:

Also about biology being arbitrary... they are literally the definitive difference between men and women... used in creation of reproductive organs before birth, appearance after puberty, and even health problems later in life (men lose hair faster due to higher testosterone, women get osteoporosis in later age due to a drop in estrogen after menopause, etc). That is faaaaaar from "arbitrary".

Question about the hairy chest thing...I'm not sure because I personally haven't done much with plundering into the game files, but is the skin tones in the .dat files? or character models for that matter? Does the game store that information locally like in XI? I mean I was no expert but in XI you were able to .dat swap all kinds of cool stuff (like I swapped out my House Moogle for my Wyvern, and people even made up .dat files; like I was running around as cloud for a bit before I decided it was no longer a novelty)

Anyway to get chest hair by those means?

Also I should note I'm not condoning this action if it is a violation of the ToS.

Again, men are masculine and women are feminine. No matter if they have body hair or not or a lot of testosterone or only a little. And they're not "edge cases". The link you posted was either the majority or plurality. We don't even know which but even if it was the former that doesn't mean it's 99% of people. I would actually argue it's not even close to that much. Variations in nature are huge. They are not black and white or absolutes.

And you didn't even read my response to what people said about that did you? That was a specific response to a specific thing the person I responded to said. Honestly I thought the "above all else" would be self explanatory based on what I was responding to but people probably didn't even read the CONTEXT of what I was saying. Like you obviously haven't.

Nope. They're arbitrary. These differences are literally only based on hormones and hormone values vary greatly within the population. Without getting too much into things that are seen as "taboo" to talk about in "polite" company there are actually a great deal of variations in body parts as well. Far, far more than is taught in school.

If you wish to argue about this can you take it to whatever the equivlent of PMs would be? No point derailing the thread this far really.

As far as the topic itself, I'm all for more options even if I wouldn't use em myself. Fully support Ramuh Lalas.

Sadly, this forum does not have a PM function. Along with its "x posts per day" and "only 1000 characters per message (unless you edit)" rules, that pretty much makes this forum the most restrictive one I've ever seen.

Well thats what I get for not checking, though I've never needed PMs on most forums I've been on since I'm not on enough...huh. Is this how all Japanese forums are or is it just an SE thing?

Thank you, that's exactly what i'm talking about.

This thread is not for making the game more realistic but to give the male characters their masculinity features. The females already have their feminine characteristics.
