Request from console user for personal parser

First of all, this thread is not to start a debate on parsing. I know the reasons SE does not want a full parser available in the game, and I actually agree with them.

    HOWEVER.

I would very much appreciate a personal one. Something that could tell me how much DPS I am doing, or how much I did during a dungeon etc. Doesn't have to give me anyone else's details.

How are ps3 and ps4 users supposed to have any idea how well they are doing? Frankly it's completely unfair because while 3rd party parsers are "not allowed" and people "shouldn't use them", everyone knows full well that PC users frequently do use them, they are overlooked, and thus they have an advantage.

No, we shouldn't parse to tell other people they are doing badly.

But why can we not have a tool that allows us to self evaluate?

    Please consider it.

But the parser might hurt your feelings, so it can't be allowed officially, I'm sorry. Also the PS3 version is already out of breath attempting to render this game at barely 720 at some sort of pseudo 20-30fps. PS4 version could likely support an official widget, but like I said... no feelings hurt, not even your own.

    Thanks SE.

They could just make a striking dummy minigame that gives you a parse based on potency.
At least then people could work on their rotations.

Then you can turn it on or off, with off being the default? They have never given hardware or data limitations as a reason for not doing it, only bullying.

I just want them to know there is demand from console users too... the way things stand now is unfair.

If they tried to add a new UI element to the PS3 screen, then it would press the hardware. At launch the PS3 didn't have the focus target function for basically that reason, and then they worked out a way to remove something (the exp bar I think?) and display the focus target instead. The PS4 and PC versions could almost certainly just throw up an additional UI element for a parser though. I'm not on the PS3, but personally, I think the next UI element to toggle would be the duty list if they were to go that route.

However, that's for UI elements that are updated constantly and are always present onscreen. For things like menus, I'm not sure how that could work out. If it updated once every 3-5 secs and was another tab of the character menu or a separate menu altogether, they may be able to get that to work without too much trouble.

I wasn't really thinking of an extra ui element even, just some text at the end of a dungeon would be a start. Obviously an extra ui element would have the most functionally, but I'm trying to keep my standards and expectations low, haha.

Would be nice to put (atleast your own total dps) at the end of dungeons/trials. They already have a detailed one for frontlines, so they are capable doing it for other instances if they wanted to.

Since parsing isn't allowed, this will be the closest thing to find out our dps

1.0 Player. Always a good lesson to keep expectations low. I remember looking forward to hunts, and then all the disappointment.
