First off. this quest really sucks for the the reward given.( Not Once Buffed)
I'm 4/6 with Kuno and Shoni left to get.
Hq rate on silverfish and cloud cutters is ridiculously low.
I understand they are Legendary Fish and are intended to be difficult to catch. However with all the bonus and buff SE has been giving the coil and pony drops and have done little to nothing for this quest.
I would love to just sit here and complain how completely bull this quest can be and ask myself why i continue to try for this after 3 weeks of what free time i have to spend.
Suggestion.
Echo for fishing. For ever none hq fish gathered you gain an echo buff to increase % on HQ. Buff decreases on hq catch. (Still rng based) This in it's self will allow those who rng have been excessively cruel to ( 3 window sets 5 hq silverfish) a bit of a buff to help.
You add echo to fcob, you add increase drop rates to ponies.. again, Dungeons get nerfed. It's time this quest got nerfed!

62 cast full window. 8am - 6 pm (Gloom) Eorzea Time
435 Gather, 338 perception.
5 hq silver fish.
3 nq gold
2 hq gold fish
2 hq Bettas Mooched from hq gold fish.
I've had 3 caravans get away caught 2
caught 5 Morniabaligi
Once i do have the buff I spend the 25 minutes trying to obtain 1 hq silver fish.
1 Kuno the Killer - got away.
this is very common.

Just Shoni left, but it's ridiculous. Best gear in the game does nothing.
