    It was correct BEFORE.
Gilgamesh has 848 people who cleared FCoB, and Excalibur has 757.

However, due to smaller Excalibur population (15637 active people), it's clear % is higher (4.84%)
Gilgamesh has 4.49% FCoB clear percentage (18877 actives).

What is REALLLY EMBARASSING is the Topic Creator was correct, was fooled by some player who doesnt seem to understand math at all, and somehow convinced the topic creator to edit the original post with WRONG INFORMATION.

(Btw I am one of the 102 people from goblin who has cleared it ^^ )

Since I was curious and bored I added it up to see what the totals would be. (Uhm if my maths right, it should be)

All JP servers together you get 9.33% that have cleared FCOB. So taking into account how this is being calculated by the minion you could probably just round that up to at least 10% clear for all players on JP servers.

All NA/EU servers together you get 1.96% that have cleared FCOB. Again that's probably closer to 2-3%.

All 64 servers together you get 5.6% of this games playerbase has cleared FCOB. Obviously adding NA/EU with JP brought the percentage down. Giving some leeway probably puts that around 7-8% of this games entire playerbase has cleared FCOB.

Nice assumptions about me there, I never said their choice to lock the expansion behind the story wasn't going to be a problem at all. One of the reasons for me it's tough to play alts is because everything is locked behind the story and having to redo clears that no one does anymore is quite frankly annoying but it is what it is. They have been stubborn about omglore (look at frontlines, still with the GC restriction) so if this is the way they want it, it's their choice. From the outside looking in, yes, it seems like a terrible business choice making people do old content but hey, it's not my service to run.

I'm sure if push comes to shove there are many ways to get people caught up, they could just throw 50% echo onto everything or speed up pre-51 leveling/remove level syncs/make dungeons soloable so you can steamroll 2.0 era story content in 2 days and be in the expansion.

I was gonna have another long winded response to several facets of this thread but there's no point XD

People ignore contexts on both ends to try and nitpick comments to prove a point.

All I've gathered now is that the simple action of "clearing coil" has put me in the elitist category. Oh well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If I had the time to sift through and "like" every comment here objectively looking at both sides I would.

If you live a life where you can't put aside a few hours a week to commit to a raid, don't raid (Again, this does NOT include sudden emergencies). If you need to break away from the raid for things that can wait then you really shouldn't be raiding at all. I spent 2 months trying to get a committed static together and every week we lost 1-2 people from just simply not showing up and giving some reason why they couldn't show up which wasn't an emergency, it was them promising they could commit to a time and suddenly they can't do it anymore and instead of communicating with us beforehand, they just don't show up and wait for us to message them later saying "wtf?"

This isn't respectful to other gamers who do have a few hours a week they can put aside to dedicate to a raid. So it's simply: Don't raid if you can't commit to it. Like that person who said she will leave if any of her RL friends call her, that's fine. She also said that she doesn't raid and she has her priorities set for what she knows she can do. But again, if you just gonna abandon people's raids after you said you'd commit to a time schedule, I don't really care about your marriage or family or friends, I just care that you lied to us about being able to commit and took no consideration to communicate anything with us (again, this does NOT include sudden emergencies).

Are you getting my point here? If you're joining some pony or light farm or any kind of farm in PF or some duty finder group and have to bail out by all means, do it and no one will care. Just don't say you can commit to raid times if you can't. My boyfriend plays the game too and my family and I were never close before I started playing this game anyways due to various reasons, so your examples of a game destroying relationships/families and whatever are non-applicable to me. Even so, if your family has problems with you spending 4 hours a week raiding, you must have the most time constrained life ever. I couldn't imagine living a life where I've no time to myself at all and I am at someone else's beck and call. To each their own I suppose.

TL;DR - everyone's life situations are different and some people can safely invest a couple hours a week to raiding without it affecting their relationships with people. Only a truly spoiled asshole is going to get mad cuz you had to leave a raid due to an emergency.

You seem to be assuming that I'm referring to groups that do and expect sensible raid times. No. I am not talking about the 4 hours a week raids. I'm referring to the people who seem to think that raiding for 4 hours every single day is a good idea. I have run into these people and I have tried to compromise. I found myself leaving those groups because they are way too into what they're doing/letting the game dictate their lives and expecting the same out of others.

Needless to say, that player base is present. There is absolutely nothing wrong with giving a few hours a week towards raiding and progression but there's a huge problem with the individuals who call for your private time whenever available in order to raid/progress for the sake of progression. The game is fun and it's supposed to be about having fun. Not forcing yourself in front of a screen for a total of 28 hours a week for progressing through content. And my wife plays the game too, but we're committed to each other more than we are finding out what happened with Bahamut. There's a point where certain people have really high and ridiculous expectations out of others for a video game that it's kind of sad. Personally I find caring about the percentage of Japanese players clearing coil to Americans kind of sad because who cares? They didn't solve world hunger first or make absolute sense out of Quantum Mechanics (if anyone says they fully understand Quantum mechanics, they're lying.) It's a game.

And yes, we agree that everyone's life situations are different and some people can invest a few hours in a raid without affecting their relationships. I am not arguing that at least and I'm not sure if you understand that I'm not. What I am arguing is the fact that there are people who are NOT reasonable and obsess over those percentages and expect everyone to drop what they're doing to commit stupid amounts of their time to raiding. Thus comes the spoiled assholes who would get angry because someone had to leave because of an emergency. I've had someone be furious with me for leaving turn 7 because I had to talk to a friend who lost someone in the life and was not in a good place at that time. Despite explaining it to him and others, I was kicked out of a raid group for "Not being reliable enough."

Those people are the ones I take issue with. Not the raiders who would dedicate a sensible amount of time to progression. There's a difference between the two. I am fully aware of that difference and we're arguing roughly the same points.

I suck at coils so I stay away from them. I still expect Square to keep making challenging raids like coils to keep HC players occupied while we more casual folk enjoy fun face rolling 24 mans and maybe some new 8 mans. I really enjoy the castrum raid and wish there were more like it that actually dropped gear. Maybe some Garlean influenced gear.
So far for what i can see, Yoshi is doing a good job at keeping a balance of hardcore and casual player content. If they keep it up I think the game is going to be just fine. Not to mention SOOO much content thats not even considered endgame. There are so many jobs that can be maxed out and with things like golden saucer and player owned housing/gardening I feel there is enough content to keep people enjoying the game. So long as they keep this balance I think things will be just fine.

By reading this thread I now know the answer why they are beating us by a large margin:
JP have some sort of "hive mind" where they are all connected directly to a single entity which is yoshi-p that forces them to clear content.
NA players do not have this advantage and that's the main reason why we can't clear content! We are all too "different" we have individuality and free will! Too much freedom to the point we have different opinions!

Tl;dr: they are the Zerg! We are The Assasins!

On a side note: it's all really about perspective. When you first start playing this game, you wonder who the hell these god-like individuals are who are actually doing this "Coil/Raid Stuff". And then once you start raiding at this level, it seems like everyone and their mother's pet poodle are doing the same.
