I will say this, and I'm not sure if this is the general experience:

If I'm raiding with my fc, Ls, or people I'm familiar with, its actually pretty enjoyable well into the night.

If i'm raiding with strangers, Its not as fun and I brood about it the next morning.

I'd write more about it, but that would be a long post better saved for other threads.

I blame this on the fact no one wants to help people clear raids when they could charge a ridiculously high fee to sell it to them instead. (*sigh*) In truth attitude is big too. it doesn't matter I got lucky enough to find a pretty good static and that were trying to beat t13 still, when I see pony farms for old content part of me is like "woo lets get a pony!" but then im immediately like " wait i haven't touched levi ex in 6 months.. if i die once they'll likely kick me and blacklist me to ensure we never pt again.. all because im a tad rusty" I hate to say that even as a eg player im concerned about making a small mistake on a fight i haven't tried in months but it is what it is.

Ah, but will facing north-by-northeast at 2:45 a.m. while the moon is a waning crescent result in a 27% increase in your chances to synthesize HQ mythril ingots!? That is real the question! ~Fernehalwes~

You need to consider the fact that there is greater timezone barriers in the english speaking world than the japanese speaking world. This makes forming statics, learning-focussed party finders, and FC groups much more difficult. Like Kallera says, nobody prefers to play with strangers - its like 2 or 3 hours of rage because each member is at different skill levels.

Okay I'm sorry dude, but if you're not joining parties because of the possibility that they might be rude then that's on you. No one can be polite to you if you refuse to socialize out of fear of rejection. If you joined and they actually were rude then that's one thing, but I'm hoping you don't really look at pf groups this way.

JPs DF actually wins T13 see

    http://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/commen...2_war_3_melee/

The thing is JP take extra care if they don't know a fight they will not queue for DF. PF is for practice. DF is for once you 100% know the fight. There is a lot of NA and EU players who see no wrong with going into a fight blind in DF causing the group to fail. JP is more about community and not wasting other peoples time or embarrassing yourself which is why they will not join DF without a very good understanding and PF practice.

I wish SE would do something like have 2 queues. DF practice and DF expert. Expert means you cleared it and capable to clear, practice means you haven't and you should get put with others that need practice as well. On the NA servers usually don't end well when you have people expecting to clear it in 1-2 trys and people who never done the fight making it so people who have already cleared leave and thus everyone must requeue.

I agree with this, it does seem kind of silly to have a cross server duty finder just for people to wipe on first phase, maybe have a 2nd option of people that can clear would help. With only 3% of any server even doing coil, it does make it harder when you are restricted to your server for clear parties. 3% of 8 servers would give a much bigger pool for people that like challenging content. Oh well.

lol here in NA server might as well call it "DF practice" and "DF hope for a free carry"

Though I won't say its how I look at every party finder but is it how a alarming amount of them are like this these days. No, it doesn't stop me completely but it does make me reconsider my interest some of the time which would mean its likely other people might share the same opinion about badly managed party finder groups (whether bad or just really anal about everything) which would indeed hinder other players from joining out of worry they might get this type or behavior. Plus I feel there's a large player base who could beat certain fights and have the skill to do so but are turned away for lack of more practice and the actual win under their belt. If party finder was a more friendly environment i think we would see less people turn away from party's that look to be poorly ran and a few more of the "learning the fight/getting someone the clear" pf's fill up quicker.

The problem as I see it is that you're preemptively judging that strangers are too judgmental. I get that there really are judgmental people in the game, but assuming before hand that they are is exactly what you're concerned they're going to do to you. PF is community driven; if you want pf to be a friendly environment, then be friendly while using pf. Not much else you can do.

There will always be a few rude people - there's no solution to that. But I think people seriously overestimate the "toxicity" of this game, or have some bad experiences that stand out in their memory and make them seem more common. Personally I've had pretty great experiences in df and pf. Maybe I'm just lucky, but my experiences have been overwhelmingly positive.
