Damn, it was a competition? Why did no one tell me!?
Looks like its time for me to start learning Japanese![]()

I make money off of this disparity. *shrugs and puts up flame shield*
First coil turn-4 player checking in! I have horrible play times for a static (thank you 3 year old!), and I don't feel like bashing my head against a wall with PUGs. I'll be OK though![]()
Quick! Server hop to a JP server to get a carry... or bring down their numbers... whichever.

If the Japanese servers have a better raiding environment and fewer gil spammers, it stands to reason they'd attract more raiders.
They're also smaller, and the Japanese gamer mentality is a lot different than the NA/EU one.
It's not a measure of skill, it's a measure of drive.
This census shows less about performance and more about cultural differences.
Ever wonder why the JP servers have as many if not more servers than the NA, yet a smaller overall population?
This is precisely the mentality that could cause this.
I haven't even attempted to do any coils, and I know a lot of people who are in the same boat as me, so you should probably keep that in mind.

Well, I'd say this goes far in quantifying the need for Alexander's concept of two difficulties so that the general population isn't totally shut out of enjoying the story, one of Final Fantasy's strengths. No one wants to hear that they should watch YouTube for plot simply because they cannot(for one reason or another) join the raiding community.

I stopped raiding once I got all of my T9 kill achievements. Messed around a bit in T10 but didn't finish it, and have no desire to continue further into Final Coil. I know a few of my friends and former raid members feel the same. I know some others who have been bouncing around PuG groups trying to find a solid group of people to play with and just aren't having any luck. Excalibur has a fairly healthy raiding community and the opportunities exist but, to reiterate some of the others in the thread, you can't force people to get clears if they don't have the time or desire to. Unless players feel a burst of generosity and offer to start helping people clear for less than multiple millions of gil (or players trying to clear have a bit more patience and discipline) those numbers likely aren't going to change drastically.
