I've never used this ability, and I don't think it is completely useless. But, have you ever used? The only use I think of it is trying to avoid an AOE but in playstation I don't have enough time to cast it and it's better to try to run away.

It can be used to cancel out movement (Using at the very beginning of Levi's deck slam, for instance, will jump you to your target, and then you're free to cast and move as everyone else slides around). It can also be useful in minimizing movement time, since the abilities duration is often shorter then the time it would take to run the same distance, allowing for more spell up time.
Personally, I don't use it much. I have a bad habit of accidental manipulating to the main tank, and my BLM needs the exercise, so I might as well run.
Now that you've been sufficiently called on the carpet; your move, rhetorical, flatulent, fustian, gaseous, gassy, grandiloquent, oratorical, orotund, windy, bloated, elevated, florid, flowery, grandiose, highfalutin (also hifalutin), high-flown, high-sounding, inflated, lofty, ornate, pompous, pontifical, pretentious, stilted, tumid, turgid; overdone, verbose, wordy - BOMBASTIC.
I have a macro set up to send me to the tank, and I use it in dungeons when I pull hate.
I use this all the time. I freaking love it! I set up a macro to target the top 3 players in the party list other than me. I usually have tanks and healers on the top of the list. If that player is out of range, it will teleport me to the next player in the list. It's great for getting out of sticky situations, and just to look awesome! -"Why is that BLM standing in the AOE, he's gonna die!?"- Then bam, pop the Manip. everythings all good. Love doing it on the Fenrir boss of Snowcloak, where you have to hide behind the crystal.
How can i macro it? I have never used macros and it seems useful
It has its uses, but I think it would be better if it were targeted like Ninja's Shukuchi so that you didn't have to rely on other players' placement in order to move where you want to go.
I hope summoner will get something similar in the expansion. It is really fun and useful ability.
Im at work atm, but i think this is how mine looks...
/macroicon "Aetherial Manipulation"
/ac "Aetherial Manipulation" <2>
/ac "Aetherial Manipulation" <3>
/ac "Aetherial Manipulation" <4>
You can also use <mo> for Mouse Over, instead of party list numbers. SO you can just hover your mouse over a Party Member then hit the macro.
Then here is the another I use frequently.
/macroicon Apocotastasis
/ac Apocotastasis <tt>
/p Some clever chat goes here
With <tt> being my target's target.
Thanks for that, let's see if I use it now more often
