You should've seen the cutscene of FFXI when you'd retire your chocobo. It showed flashback of all its life stages, egg, baby, chick, adult, from hatching to aging and if you had messed up during the road (didn't go to visit him and got him lovesick, or got him ill, or got him injured and didn't heal him or overall didn't care for it much), it all showed your sins of mistreatment during the CS. It was painfully heartbreaking.

Nice detail to see the developers have a sense of humor about things. I think my racing chocobo is probably wondering why I haven't been by in about three weeks now, it's just that the whole system of raising and training them seems so complex I see a humongous tree of possible decisions in front of me for raising/train and don't even know which ones to start. Then again I thought gardening was complex too but now I make millions on doing one hybridization after another and it seems simple, so maybe this is just another system I need to learn... but at the oneset it seems so much more complicated than learning gardening.

o god glad they didnt do that in ff14 lmao
