Hi i am looking for advice for a new player from melbourne aus to start a new character in a new world. i am planning on being a dedicated player hence looking for people with advice and generosity to help out a noobie. if there is any freecompany looking for dedicated player who will level up pretty fast with some help from the company please respond to this post.

I'm Australian too by the way! (Perth, WA) - if you want to come to my server (Balmung) you'll find no shortage of FCs and linkshells willing to take you in, as Balmung is probably the most popular server. Incidentally, there are a lot of Australian/New Zealand players in FFXIV, most of which who play on Tonberry instead of Balmung, and also given Balmung is often restricted to new characters due to being too popular, Tonberry might be a better choice for you.

If you still would like to come to Balmung though, you'll be more than welcome in the small, casual and friendly FC and linkshell I co-own with my bf.

Tonberry is the SEA region server that serves as the unofficial English-speaking server for the region. From what I've heard, there are lots of Australians, expats, and just anyone in the region that speaks English there.

For the western hemisphere I'll second Enkidoh's recommendation for Balmung. It's a friendly server, at least in my experience. It's active at pretty much all times so you don't need to worry about that, but latency may be relatively troublesome in some endgame content (if you choose to pursue it).

Both worlds will have plenty of FCs willing to take you in.

thank you guys for your replies. i did know about tonberry but i couldnt get into it the first time i tired but after reading this post i tried it again i did manage to get into it and started a new gladiator i hope i will enjoy it coz i like playing as a tank as i use to be a tank when i use to play wow since burning crusade. thank for helping out again and if you do have any advice that come to mind please help out if you wish. cheers and any one reading this from tonberry i will be looking for a FC so look me up in game and reply to this post thanks
