How do you level alts quickly?

I just returned after taking a break from 2.1

I'm a 50 SMN, BLM, and MNK. I managed to eat up all possible quests for leveling those from every faction zone. I have the caster pre-reqs cross class skills.

But good god, it sucks for melee. Blood for Blood is lv34, and it's just such a chore now to level.

FATE parties are not what they used to be when I was here at 2.1, the leveling areas are now very sparse/empty. My Lancer is 28 now....slowly slogging through the few FATES he can cycle through.

So the options are the daily low lv dungeon and guildhest. The dungeon alone is 40 minutes of wait times, so it's not like you can level just by doing dungeons.

Is there a new way to level that I'm missing? Because I'm only leveling Lancer for Blood for Blood, and the thought of leveling thief and Ninja to 50 makes me nauseous knowing that FATE grind parties/zones are much fewer now so the big events aren't even done anymore, and as a DPS class dungeon queues are horrendously long.

They could have at least allowed the 50% XP bonus to work on battle leves and buff the xp gain from battle leves.....so players have something else to do for xp besides sitting on a 40 minute dungeon queue and standing around waiting for one of the few FATEs that people actually do to pop up.

You can certainly level-up by just doing dungeons and roulette. In the time you're waiting for queues, you can do levemates or FATE events. It may seem like small amounts of exp on the greater scale, but it adds up quickly.

Admittedly, the DPS queue goes slow, but I'm doing Ninja now and it's not all that bad. If you're standing around waiting for FATE or Queue pops, you're doing it wrong. Move around to get the best benefit.

I've got too much on my plate, so I'm always busy doing something - but I at least use the Low Level and Guildhest Roulette once per day to maximize the time online for low level jobs. (I've maxed out Tank and Healer classes + Bard already... working on NIN > MNK > BLM > DRG in that order and they'll all be done before the expansion hits.)

There are virtually times where I'm standing waiting for FATES because there are NO FATEs around, and I'm already done with my hunting log. What else should I do, grind random mobs?

I'm not saying it isn't possible to level, I'm just saying now it's significantly slower compared to what it used to be before with the FATE party trains.

A combination of leves, FATEs, and roulette bonus.

There's also the Challenge Log which gives additional EXP for doing a number of FATES, Leves, dungeons etc. Pretty decent EXP.

For tank/healer jobs I do dungeons runs all the way from 15 to 50. For my SCH I got tired of people killing me in Aurum Vale so I did the last level in twenty minutes doing fates in Northern Thanalan.

For DPS jobs, it's not as easy... hunting logs, fates and leves, mostly, while making sure to hit the challenge log bonuses. Leves tend to be faster than fates between 20 and 30, because South Shroud is both awkardly hard and devoid of people a lot of the time.

The main problem is that you can't dungeon queue with your chocobo out. Personally I'd do the daily dungeon queue while bashing out crafting dailies or gathering for the GC provisioning missions, and hopefully by then the queue will have popped and you can just solo grind fates with your chocobo buddy to heal you.

From 30 or so you can probably start leeching off of other people's fate parties in Coerthas, and it's mostly smooth sailing from there, it's just the levels from 15 to 30 that drag a bit.

I am working on my last class and hope to get it to lvl 50 quick. I am doing the low level roulette and guilhest every day cause it gets me up to 1.5 Levels every day (with a higher level it will decrease a bit). While waiting for an invite I always do FATEs in the best region for my level. Atm I am level 37 and Keep doing FATEs in Coerthas

Hope this helps a bit <3

I like to let my LeveQuest stack for about a week and then you can splurge with about 30 or so of them and get thru several levels with ease. Especially nice for leveling your crafting classes.

Yeah they are reeeeeallly nice for leveling crafting classes! I did that with every... made it so much easier to get them to level 50 and wasn't that expensive.
