Screen Resolution Issue

Hello,

I was trying out some other resolutions and trying other modes (windowed, borderless windowed, full screen) and when I tried full screen everything went out of whack. The resolution in settings now defaults to 3480 x 2016, and when I try to change it to anything smaller, the actual window gets smaller, making the game only a small fraction of the screen. If I maximize it to full, the problem is back again. All the text and icons are tiny even at 140%, so that isn't the issue. Now the game is struggling and the FPS hovers around 14-15. I don't know what to do at this point. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and the problem persists. Please help, thanks.

sounds like your config file got knackered somehow? Can try manually editing the resolution values. It's nested under your documents folder, under My Games. Default path is like this:

C:\Users\<UserName>\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn

It's a plain text file called FFXIV.cfg and can be opened in any standard text editor. Note that depending on your file browser settings, you may not see the full name...in which case you'd be looking for FFXIV with no extension.

There will be a section with two sets of screen height/width dimensions, one will be for use when windowed and the other for FullScreen. Make sure they are saved with valid values for your screen.
