Characters with Tattoos on Body

Hey There! I see a few characters running around with tattoos on their body. How do I get this?

You don't, they're legacy tattoos for people who played the game prior to its relaunch as ARR, and I think even then it's only for specific characters that existed before 2.0.

Jimbo is right - that's the 'Mark of the Twelve', otherwise known as the 'Legacy Mark' - it's only given to characters who were originally created in the original version of FFXIV (version 1.0) and who where then transferred into ARR - new characters that start in ARR from scratch do not have this mark.

It's just a way to show that character was from the original FFXIV, and can be turned on and off at will. Hence, it's not something you can get now I'm afraid.

They're part of certain gear. The ones that come to mind for me are the Arachne Shirts of Scouting and Striking, ilvl110 crafted ninja and monk gear. I think one of the male swimsuit glamour tops has them, too, but I'm not quite sure.

i want tattoos on my body too. there is a tattoo section in the character creation screen but there is only rubbish in it and was never updatet. why add tattoos to specific gear instead of that character creation section? i can't wear any of that gear as female whm.

please square - add some tattoos to the tattoo section

we need more tattoos not sure why we cant get 1 like the scions have or even a city state/GC tattoo

There is also a tattoo design on the South Seas Talisman chest piece, but it's male-only iirc.

I also wish there would be more Options for tatoos all over the Body Atm I only got the Legacy one on my back.
