Bluevann, when did you hear that we will get new ranks for the current GC? People has been asking for this long ago, but they have never being implemented yet. And I havent seen any sight that they are gonna be implemented on the expasnion

You can see then now at the GC. They are greyed out currently. There are at least two more ranks comming.

I can see a list of the next higher ranks, but nothing that they will be implemented.

I do wish that they would make it so that you can experience the other two nations beginning storyline, especially given recent events.. i intend to make the same auri character three times (at once) and go through all the city stories before continuing on one of them as though i had just been to all three places, it means more emotional attachment to the grand company leaders and other important figures..

As for new grand companies i would imagine as others have said that the four great houses could fill that role if needed

It was in one of the latest interviews/live letters. I am pretty positive of that.

During the time the city states refounded the GC (they got refounded 1 year after 1.0 launch), Ishgard was not one of them. I'm sure they have still not refounded their GC in 3.0
