Similarity between two bosses.. I'm just bored lol

Hmm.. I've been farming my zodiac recently, so I need to run tons and tons of dungeons; Lost city of Amadapor was one of them

I noticed that the second boss from Lost city of Amadapor(Arioch) looks kinda like the first boss from Keeper of the lake(Einhander). Well, technically, the other way around since KotL came out much later than LCoA.

They have similar looks; both of them have horns and large wings and long tails. Though Einhander has a pair of feather wings while Arioch's wings are completely smooth and hairless.

Also their abilities are somewhat simillar as well. Both of them have a long cone attack; Arioch shoots out a laser beam while Einhander shoots bullet stream from his canon thingy.

So... perhaps they are related in a way...? Or possibly the same creature...? I have a theory that the Empire caught Arioch from lost city of amadapor and transmuted him into some biomachine thingy that helps them to kill stuff. I don't know, just a random guess. Any thoughts?

Square reuses a lot of monster assets for the game. Saves on costs and resources rather than trying to create unique monsters for every single instance, though they do try to fancy them up a bit like with that freak of nature first boss in Amadapor City.

Lol, your original posted completely contradicts your assertion that they are similar. Horns are different, wing are different, the look different, one uses a gun, the other doesn't... They're similat in that the havewings, horns and front cone attacks...OMG! that's the same as all dragons, so the must be related, right?

It's that you're making a huge leap and bounds to find similarities. "Wings, horns and frontal attack" is very generic and covers so many mobs. Diablos has horns, wings and frontal AoE. All Dragons fit that description as well.

Hmmm.. Rafflesia reaper from turn 6 doesn't necessarily look like those lv6 microchus outside of Gridania. I'm just saying that Arioch and Einhender might be related; perhaps the same species of creature or maybe the same one by any chance. There really isn't any other mobs in the game that look similar to those.
