[Petition] - Unlock the Gil cap for transferring servers.

Hello! Currently, if you want to transfer servers you are restricted to having about 1,000,000 Gil on your character and about 400-600k on your retainers. Frankly, I don't see why this cap should be here anymore. By now people have well over that amount and it bars people who have over this amount from transferring as they lose the remainder.

I can understand having this cap during beta when RMT buying was really bad (who remembers the massive ban waves?), but by now it is 2.55 and people have well earned their Gil.

I am asking you... If there is any way a community rep can forward this to the devs or if I can get support in having this cap removed I would appreciate it.

Edit: If a solution is what is required I propose raising the cap to 10,000,000 Gil or removing it all together.

    I suggest, inversion!....

check what items are more expensive in that server than in yours, buy everything from your server, or at least, expensive stuff that is even more expensive in that server, transfer with those items, sell, see the benefit!

There is a reason for this restriction, and that's to keep the economies of the different worlds stable. They don't want people transferring from a server with a high amount of gil in circulation to a server with far less gil in circulation and coming in with a massive advantage over everyone else on that server because they brought 10 million gil with them. Different servers have vastly different economies; this is a measure to help preserve those economies and make it so that a few people transferring can't throw everything out of whack and thus hurt the rest of the population on that server.

So they would rather "balance an economy" and have people not have a good time or essentially feel stuck on a server? Frankly, I don't see this as being a very good reason to have the cap. I do see their side, but I believe now is the time to perhaps revisit and issue and perhaps change the cap or remove it.

    1) No not everyone has tons of gils. Most people I know sit around 300-400k, even though a few of them go way higher (up to 200m)

    2) the limit is here so that you can't go with huge amounts of gils and ruin the economy of an other server. Also, if you want to transfer most of your gils, there are ways to do so without many losses.

    3) If you think the millions people make through crafting/SBing are not RMT gils for a good part, you're very naive. A huge amount of the gils in circulation now are from RMT. Shards ? RMT. Materias ? RMT. Run selling ? A good chunk of these are funded by RMT because people are lazy.

if you need all your gils to "have a good time" you might reconsider what you really want : gils, or not feeling stuck on your server ?

If the former, then you're choosing to remain stuck
If the latter, the cap doesn't matter.

See that's the problem... I believe people still think the RMT controls most of the market when they don't. We cannot cap ourselves just because RMTs are here being "scary." Frankly, if you were on Behemoth you would see that most of the people on my server have 5+million Gil. How do I know that? I have been there since the game started and I have grouped/played with people.

I am not choosing to remain stuck I just don't want to lose my Gil that I earned.

I'd be surprised if 10% of the shards sellers are human, on any server. For materias there are more legitimate players but not that much. As I thought, you might be really naive about the reality of FFxiv's crafting.

You can make them again on an other server. If you were truly stuck, you'd change. I had 13m on Balmung, but wasn't able to do anything relevant in PvE at my play time, so I changed to an european server, and now I'm at 800k gils, because I have nothing to do with them. If I wanted, I could make them back. I just don't because whatever.

On the other hand, I'm no longer stuck, so I win.

Meanwhile you remain stuck. I wonder why.

That's pretty bad.... Better make a new character, because from lvl1-50 you can earn around 500k just from quest reward right?

Frankly it is logical to assume that if you transfer you plan on remaining there for a significant amount of time. I plan on buying a house at home point, so I will lose a few million and I do spend a lot of Gil at times leveling up my other crafting abilities.

My point here is that I want to try with the support of the community to change a policy that doesn't have merit anymore.

It's not because it doesn't fit you that it doesn't have merit anymore.

You have to assume your desires. You want to change servers ? then transfer. If you can't accept the rules, don't transfer. Simple.

If you want to make a use of them, you can still blow them into your crafting classes' levelling right now.

You should be thankful that there even is a server transfer option instead of whining about the conditions of said transfer. Many games would just have you to start all over again
