Need help/advice in moving ffxiv program data files

I have run into a situation where my primary SSD has run out of space (about 10GB left on it) and I will not be able to install/play Heavensward when the time comes. I have a secondary SSD (NOT in RAID) that has more than enough space on it for the program files, while leaving the document file folders on the C: drive.

I have googled this pretty extensively and most of the answers I have come across involve moving my Documents folder. Due to other applications tied to my Docs folder I would like to leave it on my main drive, but take the Program Data files for FFXIV and put it on my secondary SSD.

Has anyone done this? Can it be done successfully? What do I need to do to tie the new location to the old Docs folder? And what additional info do you need from me to answer this question successfully? (Am I looking at a re-install? )

Thank you in advance for any help offered (and point me in the right direction if my Google-Fu was having a bad day or two)

You can just move the main game folder (that is installed in Program Files) and just leave the Documents folder alone.

The game doesn't care where it is run from, it only cares that the structure is intact. The only thing it does active look for is the Documents folder so just don't touch that and you can move the game off your SSD or wherever you want (if you're worried, copy it instead of move it and try running the ffxivboot.exe from the new location, it'll work just fine then you can remove the old files).
