Capes and cloaks always reminds me of "The Incredibles", when that scientist laments the number of heros who died due to wearing them. E.g sucked into jet engines...etc

Ok, seriously I'm getting pissed reading all these comments. Wtf is wrong with people?! When did capes + fantasy world, meaning medieval, magic, swords and sorcery not go together; for those that need a little help (i'm lookin at you Zeref). Has everyone forgotten that this combination goes together like rice and beans? Apparently, Zenaku is in support of something that should have been planned for the game since its creation. I am personally angry with SE for not thinking this through beforehand. Now we are stuck in a pointless position where asking for such an obvious request is being negated for stupid reasons like "capes are for superheroes derp!"
Seriously, those who are against capes must be so scarred by WoW that they have forgotten that all the best fantasy heroes wear capes. Final Fantasy's roots and Amano's artwork displays capes in all their glory.
How many characters are wearing capes in this list? That's Final Fantasy ONE, ok?
Does this look like a cape to y'all?
How about this badass? Or this guy? The latter ones here designed by our beloved Akihiko Yoshida.
So please, stop with the boohoo nonsensical "capes don't fit in this game" crap and forget that WoW ever existed. THIS AINT WOW AND IT NEVER WILL BE. Capes done FFXIV style would obviously look fantastic. Now I COMPLETELY understand the reasoning behind the amount of graphical power, physics and gear-tailoring needed to get capes to look right for this game (which, again, should have been planned for from the start) and is a sound argument given FFXIV's current state. But it's the mistake of the original planners that we will probably never see capes. Thanks SE.
Don't worry Zenaku, the cape naysayers are scarred by WoW's and other mmo's bad graphical choices. Why in the world would SE give FFXIV the flat polygonal cape look to our beautiful Eorzean motif? Again Zen, your idea of class-specific capes would be so bomb I pee myself imagining cape implementation over some artifact armor. This Evil Armor without a cape makes me feel like something is missing. What confuses me most is, with so much of SE's resources put into FFXIV's graphics and physics (which in turn made gameplay and release timing suffer) why did this get omitted?

Samurai can have bleach capes http://www.animemangalap.eoldal.hu/i...59_355_265.jpg
Assassin or THF can have this type of cape http://www.google.com/imgres?q=assas...1t:429,r:0,s:0
and they can make diff type of capes for diff type of jobs i see no issue in asking for this in a much later date. Even if people dislike the idea you can turn it off if you dislike it and you keep the game how you want it.
