Not saying healers absolutely have to DPS, however you're also dead weight if your group is more than capable of pulling through trash/bosses without the need to heal and you are sitting there doing nothing.

Healers are healers, I thank healers if they DPS. They are like Policemen, you don't say Policemen are doing nothing -just sitting and waiting- because thier job comes in when the alarm ticks. Well, they can help the old lady to cross the street.. but that's something they give on their own and not what they should be doing.
