If they do a Weekly System, I'm sure its not hard to implement :P. and I wouldn't mindOk, the 2-3 leves each guild day works if they keep the current day/night cycle without any adjustments to the clock. However, I don't recall there being a week cycle like in FFXI o the closed once a week thing might not work unless they do add a weekly cycle. I might be wrong but I just never noticed it yet in FFXIV only in FFXI.
Yep, that's why I said for some more NMs
And some shops or counters open for certain hours of the game would maybe help to make the cities feel more realistic and life-like... although I remember being annoyed at all the times I ran to a guild in FFXI for materials and had to wait for it to open againlol
Oh for the love of the twelve do NOT add store hours to shops or clerks available.
That was the third worst idea in FFXI only behind crafting level limits and fluctuating prices for crafting materials.
Back on topic: Sarutabaruta had Night time enemies and goblins could see further at night so it was more treacherous even in lowby areas. Even Ronfaure had more Orcish mobs at night. It was really fun seeing people run back to town from an aggroing Orcish Grappler or Mesmerizer.
I remember the skeleton on the road in the Black Shroud. That was fun.
I like this, as a matter of fact loved it, wish i had fraps on my comp when that Ascion showed up!!!!!!!!Here is one thought I've had that I feel would be neat for this game...
[slight spoiler storyline spoiler...]
In the main story that one quest out in thanalan... the desert gets this dense fog and howling wind and you see the undead creature floating across. I think it called it an Ascian? It would be nice if they could make one (or more) of those spawn in dense eerie fog weather in thanalan. Even if it were to be an illusion. Or a super awesome NM.
A "fear of the dark" kind of effect would be nice. Would certainly add some excitement to exploring around.
Reminded me of Corses... I remember the first time I saw one of those- ran in the opposite direction as quickly as possible lol. They were horrible looking things, but pretty neat if we had some real evil mobs in game like this too (or maybe I'm just sadistic!)
Agreed. It doesn't fit well with the more casual mood the game is going for. They want people to be able to log in and do the things they need to, store hours might mean on any given day they may not even be able to get to it during their play time.
That's why the NPC's who run the stores should take shifts. That way it's not just one NPC there the whole time
Agreed, Skeletons, ghosts and even thieves could and should come out at night in FFXIV. And not only that, how about some mobs coming out in some weathers! Anyone remember in FFXI when the fog came and a bomb would be lurking around outside Bastok.
How about in FFXI when some quests required you to find an item that would only show up in some weathers or some elemental days. It would show up as a ??? but it's possible to have quests like this in FFXIV with some differences.
What's the point in having a time and date in FFXIV if there isn't any change in gameplay.
Great post!
Completely agree, this will definitely add to immersion and excitement of the game.
Keep the ideas coming people!
