Yeah, Castlevania 2 style!
Change the music at night to techno, send out the tough Mobs and let the gatherers work during the day.

Heya adventurers! I wanted to let you know that the dev. team is currently looking into increasing the amount of monsters that only appear at night. There isn’t a specified time period just yet for when these additional nighttime monsters will be implemented, but when they are, I’m sure they will wish that they stayed in hiding! /evilgrin

To live Each day is a Hell of a Miracle
Don't forget the undead and/or other various scary monsters that would make me think twice about going out at night lol.
Uraeus currently only spawns at night.
Yep, that's why I said for some more NMs
And some shops or counters open for certain hours of the game would maybe help to make the cities feel more realistic and life-like... although I remember being annoyed at all the times I ran to a guild in FFXI for materials and had to wait for it to open againlol
Good to know! ^^ having monsters specific of certain situations is very good immersion-wise! ^^ Here some options:Heya adventurers! - Monsters that spawn only during night.
- Monsters that spawn only during day
- Monsters that spawn only during certain weathers. (like having seedkins specific of rain weather)
- Monsters that change forms during night. (like making certain monsters go into "trap-mode", like having diremites bury themselves, leaving only the tail outside and light a green light in the tip to pretend it was a firefly =P)
- Monsters that speep at night.
- Monsters that have their territory increased/lowered during night. (like making nannies' territory decrease so they would stay clustered during night, or making stuff like bandits that stay in caves during day having their territory increased at night so they start spreadinf around all region close to cave entrance.)
- Monsters that change approach during night. (like making billies become aggressive during night.)

Thats great, and I'm glad they're going to keep working on stuff such as this. This in particular definitely needed to be worked on. Also I would press for other changes during nightime, maybe to make it more pronounced and different than the day. Moon effects for players, different parts of map changing when the sun goes down (like water receding to let a path open) etc. those are just ideas and SE can balance however they see fit
We need better ghost mobs in this game. The ones in XI were to be feared. The ones in this game are easy and look too cute.
FFXIV: ARR item database, ability lists, maps, guides, dungeon loot lists and more. - http://www.ffxivinfo.com
The ones in XI were not to be feared via looks, infact they looked just as dumb without the cute factor. I will admit though the ones in XIV remind me awfully alot of Kirby.
