They used to have this. Skellies would spawn in Cedarwood at night and there was a skellie on Traquil Paths that would spawn at night as well.I would love to see night time in game have a sense of danger when you stray from the beaten path and add some fear of the dark.
Much like Terraria, Minecraft, XI and other games, let loose the undead during the dark hours.
Would love to see Zombies stumble around, Skeletons rise from the earth as well as ghosts, bats and demonic spirits floating around in the darkness of the night.
Of course keep the captiral cities and surrounding low leve areas safe at night, but the further you get away from civilization you get the more chance you walk upon haunted grounds.
Least for me this would add to giving a feeling of excitement when traveling far out (will i make it there in time before night falls?), making it more of an adventure when exploring further reaches of the maps or when walking to far away camps.
Would also realy like to see old ruins, graveyards, ship wrecks, monuments etc, added to the scenery of the world as landmarks and to serve as haunted spots from where the undeads spring forth.
I agree 100% with OP.
Should also have:
-different music at night
-alot darker
-different battle theme for undead
-sound effects (crickets etc...)
All of these things would be easy to implement and would have a big impact on making the game more alive. Imagine all the lore that undead alone could bring to the game... along with some exciting side-quests.

Aye, I know its not a FF thing, but the world feels far to nice and cuddly even in the most scary of places, caves should be dark with intimidating lighting and things.
(yes I'm grumpin about caves having a glow with no reason ada a nice bloe/green glow and moss on he walls at least to make it look better)
I'd love the team to actually look at ways to make the world more alive and more dangerous, I think soon as the core fix's they are doing are done, this should be the next focus then finally content as we build up to Ps3.
The environmental mobs we talked about here, npc in towns being more alive, more ambiance in the zones in general, a feeling of danger as we move to the outer edges of zones and when the imperials attack and such.

				Good idea is good

I remember when I used to play EQ you couldn't even see 6 feet ahead of you at night lol that game had torches for visibility. That was pretty scary... especially if you started at the dark elf capital.
I agree with this idea, i also believe that less lighting at night would go a long way to this effect. Of course it wouldn't have to be so bad that you can't see but imo it's far too bright at night, maybe its the 2 moons but i still don't see (physically) how this amount of light is even possible during the twilight hours.

Yo Choyi. I semi agree with this, I don't think undead should be all over the place like in those games it is kind of silly that all the sudden a million undead creatures are there because the sun went down. I think it should be in the general area of caves that undead are normally in and/or around ruins that would need to be added like you said. Them being everywhere doesn't really fit in on this game but them being around the general vicinity of the caves they live in does.I would love to see night time in game have a sense of danger when you stray from the beaten path and add some fear of the dark.

Also it doesn't have to be solely undead, it can be other creatures of the night that like to come out in those other areas where undead creatures are not at. Creatures like maybe Efts, Raptors, Wolves, maybe a lower level Marlboro in certain areas would be awesome. This way it would add a realistic immersion effect over a bunch of stuff that makes no sense.

I wouldn't mind different stuff popping at night but the Qufim situation was stupid, especially because undead in that game aggrod from really far away if you were low on HP, were tons of levels above anything else in those zones, and were an absolute nightmare to fight even if they didn't completely outlevel you.
I agree with all that Dargoth said. They need to make sense where they pop.

inb4 lvl 80 undead start popping all over the place at night.

I agree 100% this is what FFXIV need and most have for nighttime.I would love to see night time in game have a sense of danger when you stray from the beaten path and add some fear of the dark.
