    A thought on fixing SOME of the toxicity of the game

    Since the beginning SE has held firm that they are against parser because they cause a toxic effect between players in higher stress raids. Using such is a Ban-able offense despite the potential benefit that parsers provide. I argue that the "Soldiery bonus" effectively has the same affect. Players instead of seeking out the bonus to be rewarded use is as a gate to lock out less effective players. Cleared players have no motivation for helping for a measly 100 soldiery. Now this leads to another problem. Learning parties. No matter what all the raiders say, you cant just start a learning party and learn. Many learning parties have hit the 1 hour lockout without even hitting 4 players. This leads players trying to learn to be frustrated and feel locked out. So what do we do? lie our way into farm or clear parties to learn. And that just makes everyone mad; leads to blacklisting, which leads to more unsuccessful learning parties and farm parties.

    And i know the next comment; join a static. But what about those who lack a static real life schedule; its a growing population of mmoplayers.

    So as to my thoughts on fixing this problem. One of two things I think need to happen. First option, i think removing the Notification of the bonus would be one solution; as it would make it harder to immediately shut down a raid. Give players a chance. Many of us just need the 3 or 4 runs to get it down and then we can farm with the rest you. I believe the soldiery bonus was a good intended thing. but like so many good intended ideas; people turn it into a weapon.
    Now my other and what i believe is a much more successful solution. The bonus needs to be unique to the system. Make the reward something you can only get from helping others. i don't know what this could be; rare glamour, special tomes; an allowance to break the weekly cap? I don't know; but 100 soldiery doesn't entice ANYONE to put in the effort.

    I'd love to hear feedback from anyone; but especially bayhonne. The community is only getting more toxic in regards to coil. Behemoth server alone has some of the worst anti-learning parties around. Constructive criticism is heavily welcomed. 14 has some of the best, most listening Devs around, so i hope this doesn't fall on deaf ears.

    Just edit your first post to make it one post.. It all begins with those that are ahead actually helping others like the Devs had probably hoped in the begining. Unless there is more AoK's w/o enticements or vast amount of gil involved, It will be difficult for new players I think (casuals with little daily time to play etc).

    you cant really say that static s better, considering that the new generation of player has enough iq to only press 3 buttons and alway do a dps, FF14 requires more than 3 buttons and needs you to know how to use your brain.
    and see those who uses "soldiery bonus" as a means of locking out players to your advantage: see those who exclude new players as a way of making sure you dont ever cross people who cherish the dream of bragging about how good they are in a video game

    Or.. We could just realize that if the community is perceived as helpful, then that increases the likelihood that new players stick around and old players don't leave.

    Those who continue to make this game's community a toxic one, are only shooting themselves in the foot as it harms the game itself. It drives players away. Players driven away means less subs, less subs means less cash flow, less cash flow means more limited resources. More limited resources means less content.

    So even if you're one of these people and you think you're better than everyone else, maybe you are, but it is still in your benefit to, at the very least, be cordial.
