Games looks exactly the same on the PC as it does on the PS4. The PS4 version runs it on "Maximum" also. PS4 get's about 30-60 fps... more or less... the PC version w/ an uber GPU setup will run it between 30-300+ fps.

Some thoughts: Secondary HDD might be worth it. Doesn't have to be SSD. 256 GB ain't much these days. If your going to run a 970, I'd get a better PSU.

It actually doesn't, for character models it uses the same fidelity at the moment but the world detail the PS4 is a few notches down.

    Looks good.

Like another here mentioned, is that you will want to have a least two sticks of ram. Although it's not that it will put too much stress on the one stick of ram, it's that that CPU has a dual channel memory controller. You are severely gimping the system memory bandwidth if you are only using the one stick (by half) That will have a huge effect on gaming.

Go for at least a 2X4 GB (8GB total)

Otherwise as others have suggested - you should also get at least a 600W supply.

Your total system will only be about 300W but you want to get into that 50% usage sweet spot to keep your PSU running efficiently. This will also give you some headroom as your system gets older that PSU doesn't put out the full 600W, and also leaves room for future upgrades.

Also, you could just use the stocker cooler. No reason to use anything else on that setup other than for looks. In reality those tower coolers don't supply great airflow over the VRM/Mosfets that are used to control power to the CPU. So you may actually be better off with the stock cooler if you don't plan on putting a ton of fans in that case.

Use MSI or Nvidia cards. PNY cards are well known for being faulty and breaking down easily. Never have had a problem with MSI or cards right from Nvidia themselves. Also, you may want to invest in a stronger power supply. 520 might run everything fine, but your upgrade capability from there may be limited with that power supply. I recommend 800+. The CPU is a good choice, if you're building for games and not computing, as video games are GPU heavy. So your 4th gen i5 will be more than enough.

Whatever you do, don't use EVGA cards...

My GTX 660 from EVGA is incapable of automatically adjusting the fan properly according to temperature. Running FFXIV will overheat it every single time. It requires the PrecisionX software from EVGA to control the fan speed. The default package hardware seems adamant to never run the fan at 100% even when the temperature is closing in on 80 degrees Celsius. This is the only reason why they claim it runs quitely. :3

Not to mention the factory overclock makes it unstable in FFXIV. I'm running it now clocked down to its non-overclocked performance, otherwise it will crash the NVidia driver and FFXIV can't recover from a driver crash (game screen will remain blank).

Was wondering about PCs. Was looking at the alienware x51 and wasn't sure if mini gaming PCs had lower quality when it came to game performance, compared to full sized PCs.
