    Building a new computer...

My current PC is a dinosaur from 2008 and I need a replacement. I currently play on the PS4, but been interested in also playing on the PC if possible. Would the build below work with this game? I don't know the system specs. Thanks

    EDIT:

What about the "Mid Ranged Gaming Build" or "High End Gaming Build" on this site? http://www.build-gaming-computers.co...-computer.html

I'm not super up to date on all the specs I should be shooting for on my parts since it has been ages since I bothered to try this. The first build I used the ChooseMyPC.Net tool which generated the Parts Picker link for me.

At a glance, the parts you have should be more than enough to play XIV on Max settings.
That graphics card is very good and the CPU looks to be strong enough to run fairly demanding games.

    Recommended System Requirements for Heavensward
    OS: Windows® 7 64 bit
    CPU: Intel® Core™ i5 2.66GHz
    Memory: 4GB
Available space on hard disk/SSD: 30GB
Graphics Card: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 660 or higher, AMD Radeon™ HD 7950 or higher
    Screen Resolution:1920x1080
Internet: Persistent broadband internet connection required
Sound Card: DirectSound® compatible sound card (DirectX® 9.0c or higher)
    DirectX®: DirectX® 9.0c or higher

Your Specs (the ones that matter anyways):
    OS: Unknown, I'm assuming Windows 7 or 8 64-bit
    CPU: Intel® Core™ i5 3.3GHz Quad-Core
    Memory: 8GB
    Graphics Card: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 970

Yeah that will max the game no problem.

Also the CPU will come with a cooler so buying a 3rd party one is a bit superfluous since you're not getting a K series chip that can be overclocked (3rd party coolers work better than stock coolers but the CPU won't generate enough heat to see any advantage unless you're overclocking it)

That system is similar to what i run. i5/780. It runs really well, not sure what dx11 will do but I imagine itll run better with it.

970 should be able to run any game on high-max settings as it's pretty much an enthusiast card.

If your gonna use that heat sink make sure it's gonna fit in that case. It should but it's going to be close.

Well IMO if you are going to use that heat sink you might as well go with the i5 4690k. The only reason you need a heat sinc that good is if you are overclocking your processor. Also I would recommend getting 2 sticks of ram. having 2 sticks reduces the stress on one even if its not using the full power and extends its life. The motherboard is kinda (well really) bleh but if you are not planning on upgrading this system ever then it will be fine. The graphics card is nice! TBH looking at the dimensions of that tower, it looks like that heat sinc wont fit. my case is 5 inches wider and I have the same one and it barely fits. but the stock one that comes with the processor will be more than enough. Running really close to that minimum wattage huh? Well hope that power supply doesn't lose those watts soon . I personally would always go 100 watts higher than minimum just to be safe.

Sorry if i seem negative towards some things but in my tower i cheaped on some parts just to have to completly get new ones to upgrade other parts. got my sli gtx 980 and needed new motherboard due to no second pcie 3.0 slot and needed a bigger power supply. So i kinda wished someone would have told me haha.
