is it true that the pedigree increase of 1 act like an increase of 1 star on every stat? i know a pedigree 1 chocobo with all 2star (the starter boko) has a ranking from exact 60 on lvl 50. so - if i want the perfect R60 chocobo i need a pedigree 2 chocobo (with 2 skills) who has on every stat only 1 star? so he has the exact ranking of 60 on lvl 50 too? or will he have an other ranking cause of higher pedigree?
my pedigree 2 had a rating of 75 at 40 b4 i retired it with 4 stars on endurance and 2 on the rest
whats the best option for when the result of a covering is pretty poor.. do u just retire it and buy another permit from npc n try again with ur previous chocobo in the hopes of getting somethin better??
just collected my pedigree 3 chocobo and stars were 2/1/1/2/2 didnt even inherit skill![]()
It has a chance at inheriting an active or a passive skill when bred. You cannot have more than the bred ability until after level 10. If you cannot use the skill within a race, odds are he inherited a passive skill. You can look it up in your Gold Saucer widget.whats the best option for when the result of a covering is pretty poor.. do u just retire it and buy another permit from npc n try again with ur previous chocobo in the hopes of getting somethin better??

As for the RNG of the birds, if you want good stats you will need to take time to buy a bunch of covering options, discard the garbage ones, and only breed with the ones with the best stats, in hopes to get better results, also determined by RNG. (my strat was I bought up dozens of grade 1 coverings, and threw away anything with fewer than 3 rows including 4 stars, and any with more than 1 row including only1 star.)
In the end of my first 10 breeding attempts, I ended up with 3 birds I was happy with, each with 28-29 star pedigrees.
The stats that determine your fledgeling's rating are those of the grandparents, so they can't get super potent til pedigree 3 or 4, and only if you are extra careful with how you breed them.
Color, weather preference and abilities are inherited as a 50-50 chance from mother or father when breeding, so that has to be factored in as well. That said, it is less important until the higher ranks.

o god so better option for me would start over lol tyvm for the info much appreciated :3 really helpful reply
so i decided to start over since my 3rd pedigree choco had horrible stats so best way to start would be my original + a grade 1 covering with really nice stars on both the male n female since the total stars combined on the covering is what counts 2wards inheritance?? just put my orginal choco + a covering with 30+ stars in the hopes i get somethin better lol

The chance you will get the grandfather's accelleration stat is 1 in 4. It is much easier to inbreed based on how many pedigree stats are 4 stars rather than which bird has the most (non-four) stars. So the best option is to breed with stuff that has the most 4 star stats you can pull off, and once you have bred 10, interbreed the best male and female from that batch. Next generation, rinse and repeat.o god so better option for me would start over lol tyvm for the info much appreciated :3 really helpful reply

Advanced: If any stat is below 4 stars, treat it like it is a 1 star, and do what you can to be breed out of your bird. After all, star values are never "averaged out" between parents- one grandparent is chosen at random for every stat.
tyvm for the reply again :3 atm i have a pedigree with around 33 stars on grandparents i just retired,, the 4th pedigree didnt turn out great but seems to perform better then the previous atm its level 16 n hasnt lost a race yet so gonna stick with it for a whiles XD
another quick question is the gender of the covering determined by the chocbo u retired?? since i got a female first all the coverings since have always been female... so the gender doesnt change?
Its random for the most part... but I too don't seem to get male fledglings very often even when both of my birds are bred together at the same pedigree.
yeah ive been hoping to get a male 1 out of my coverings so can interbreed with my own since my lower pedigree chocobos have some really nice stars but always get a female![]()
