I find it kind of amusing that it's only been about a year since the PS4 was released, and we're already considering it's predecessor a dinosaur. It's still a powerful console, and it runs FFXIV smoothly in its own right. The 'features' that everyone complain we can't have are often only minor anyway, so why has PS3 support become such a complaint?

Because PS3 is weak enough to hold back the game long-term. FFXI was limited by the PS2, and prevented the game from advancing and gaining new players. Long-term FFXIV will suffer because of it. Subs don't matter when the game is being held back. At the moment it's nothing huge, but it will be if support continues. If people like the game, they'll buy it for PC or PS4 anyway. First mistake was releasing it on PS3.

And no, the PS3 is not a powerful console, hasn't been for years.

They did a pretty good job on optimizing the game for such an ancient console as you say. =p Yeah I do agree eventually it should be phased out... but on PS4, it'll take way too long before it becomes a problem, if at all.

PS3 was a dinosaur even before PS4 came out...

PS3 came out late 2006/early 2007... So we are talking about an 8 year old machine, that wasn't even that powerful when it came out. I love consoles too, so it's not that, but consoles becomes dinosaurs after such a long time.

I bought my current PC in 2007, and while it was much more expensive and powerful than the PS3, it's total crap right now... Can't run the game smoothly without setting everything to the lowest possible, and even then it sucks.

PS3 is more optimized, so it works, but just barely... and they can never add more client side features as long as PS3 is supported. Unless they have it working differently for PC/PS4 and PS3, but don't know if that will work. I'm not talking about the black list.

On the topic, they should just add a "delete all" option for the black list, and deleted characters should be removed automatically or with a mouse click.
