    Just hit 50 Suggestions

I just hit 50, what's the first thing I should be doing now. Per say, should I get my grand company gear or is that not worth it or should I be doing the hunting logs. I just not sure where to start.

I wouldn't bother with Grand Company gear to be honest it's pretty crap. I' get through the main story/scenario and unlock hard mode dungeons and HM/EX Primals, they are by the far the most intense and rewarding parts of the game. You could go get your Relic weapon as well. Go to Fallgourd Float, run to Peacegarden and speak to Gerolt. Getting that relic weapon should be your first step towards raising your iLvl alongside clearing hard mode dungeons

It's all true, save for a few lies here and there.

Imho check that you finished 2.0 story aka do Castrum meridianum and Praetorium you also can start on the follow up story as its a long way till 2.55 content to go (if no cutscene skipping).
Make sure to have all your jobquests till level 50 and the level 50 one done and get the Relic Reborn quest from Nedrick at Vesper Bay. The Relic quest forces you to do ifrit, garuda and titan in HM version and gives you 2 additional trials. If you progress beyond relic zenith later on is totally up to you.
Also do the legacy of allag quest in Mor Dhona tzo unlock Labyrinth of the Ancients, then Syrcus Tower and at last World of Darkness (for gear ilvl 80, 100, 120).
If you also check which sidequests unlock the additional dungeons (most are located in Mor Dhona level 50ish, one in Uldah at the Choco guy one in Old Gridania in the conjurers guild) you make sure to have a good basement.

Once you done these points its all up to you how you handle your gameplay yourself if you want to try Raids (EX primals or Coil) or just casually enjoy the story.

So You Just Hit Level 50 in Patch 2.55 - lots of info all in one place. Keep in mind that the Coils are absolutely not required, you can skip them if you want to.

Note: IF you are a crafter then you could make your gear and just do the unlock quests skipping to the Expert Roulette (explained). However I'll assume you are not going forward in my post.

Per gear only your best way to level up is to run the Crystal Towers and buy the Soldiery/Poetics gear as you get tommes. Unlock your relic and and do the required dungeons, quests, etc. to get yourself at least a i80 weapon. Once you have i90 you can complete the post 50 story, unlock your Expert Roulette and do that once a day. I'd advice getting a Poetics weapon at this point since most of your damage will come from that. Then finishing off your Poetics gear/splashing in Demon gear where it makes sense).

You won't have the best gear you could have but you'd have a item level of at least 120 going into Heavensward with minimal effort. I don't at all recommend getting your relic past i80. You simply won't have time unless you pure grind out that and nothing else which you won't be able to do.

Once you have that you should unlock the trials needed for your Trial Roulette as all of these trials can help you in the future to get glamours and Triple Triad cards if you choose to go that route. That would require the entire Hildebrand quest line though. Along the way you will need partial progression in your Grand Company ranks for the main story.

I assume you have the basic cross class actions you'd need for Dragoon but if not between now and getting to i90 it is extremely recommended you get them (a level 12 MNK and level 26 MRD is recommended for useful cross class - level 26 MRD for the extra cooldown Mercy Stroke and Bloodbath for solo content).

If you make it this far before Heavensward I'd explore something else in the game whether that be crafting, gathering, another battle class, Triple Triad, Chocobo Raising, PvP, etc. If you have a Free Company I would also be feeding your Chocobo to level it up. It is extremely useful when you need for open solo content. I'd imagine still relevant in Heavensward.

Some players may say get some Gil but battle classes generally speaking don't need it since dungeons cover their teleport and repair costs naturally. You may need it for the relic in Heavensward but more likely you can obtain that through seals or spiritbonding both of which could be done via dungeons.

Gearing up in FFXIV is fairly easy but maintains the difficulty/feel while doing so. This is why I prefer its system compared to other MMO's.

Thanks to all but thanks to Superskull big time, just because you answered another question I have of lately been pondering on. What cross classes do I need to be leveling up to benefit my Dragoon the best. Which has got me a bit lost because I feel like their is not enough macros for all the actions I want to use, without flipping through my action list which I hate doing in the middle of a fight. Their just a lot of info to take in quickly with this game being able to lvl to 50 so quickly. It's a little overwhelming lol, along with rushing when I play because I don't have a lot of time to play when I play (0-3 hours on weekdays and 0-6 on weekends).

I don't use macros on my DRG, but I do have a couple of extra action bars bound with shift/control modifiers. Generally speaking you should avoid macros unless it's for very simple stuff like using a skill on a target-of-target, because you can't "queue" abilities with macros - as a lag tolerance measure you can activate a skill while the GCD is still ticking, and it'll execute immediately once the GCD is up, but you can't do that with macros - they execute strictly when you press the button with no queueing. And while you can set up multi-ability macros that fire off a bunch of abilities in sequence, you can only do them in intervals of whole seconds as far as I'm aware, which is no good when you want to be using abilities on every GCD.
