Variation in Attacks

While punching things in the face is always great, I'd also like to see pugilist and its future job class(es) utilise elbow and knee strikes. A thread made previously also mentioned kicks.

These types of attacks could also come with enfeebling effects like Concussive Blow does. For example, low kicks could lower evasion or movement speed, while an elbow strike could cause a cut/bleed effect or daze the monster. These new attacks could replace some of the junk PGL currently has like Pounce or Seismic Shock.

This idea came to mind when I read the line in the Famitsu interview about the PGL 'mount' position idea. Mounting is seen in MMA and would add a whole new element to PGL, but I don't know how that'd be implemented. In addition, some of the styles incorporated into the sport have been around for a long time, thus wouldn't feel out of place within FFXIV.

Lastly, Muay Thai just isn't seen enough in MMO's, IMO

I like this idea! A LOT. Especially the Daze thing. It kinda sucks that our only weaponskill that does this currently is Pounce and not only does it have to be executed from behind, it has quite a cooldown. Although I don't wanna see Seismic Shock replaced... I'm a fan of the leg incaps =p
