    System Error; Cannot start game launcher

    so I'm getting this system error that won't allow me to play the game every time I start the launcher.. I've tried rebooting my system and not even that works. And help?

    I get that sporadically, but usually when I close the launcher and open it up it works the 2nd time. Sense the launcher is somehow tied into IE. You might try resetting the browser settings for IE, then try again.

    I've been getting this quite often in the past month or so as well, but never before. Opening the launcher again almost always work.

    It's in the settings > internet options > Advanced > click the reset button > Click Reset button. On that last step there is a optional delete personal settings. It's a more thorough reset, but wipes some info you might not want it to like saved passwords, history, etc,.

    The error code translates to HEX 0x800C008, which is basically a generic Download Failed message (interrupted connection)

    Double-check your security--may need to refresh your exceptions for the FFXIV executables (or add them if you don't have them already). We've seen false-positives trip in the past after security software updates. It can also halt some programs when it detects a change in the executable file as well (version number, checksum, etc. that changes after patching).

    In another thread someone noted they resolved it by enabling the TLS options in the advanced settings for Internet Explorer--just for good measure, may want to toggle on all the SSL and such as well just to be on the safe side?.
