There's a specific situation for a 1gil undercut, even on an item that costs hundreds of thousands, undercutting by 1 gil has its effects, usually more psychological than economical. But it still works wonders.Undercut is so overrated for being a bad thing. If I sell a Darksteel ingot HQ at a price of 40k and I made it for 10k I really don't mind selling it for 39k if another person sell his for 39,99k. Why is that? because the sell i do is easy money and I do it hugely to make millions of profit. People who underbid 1g to sell don't see how less a matter it is in the big picture and they probably end off not selling much at all compared.
