I recently had the same problem, OP. Well, more or less. I have a fluid IP address and I have to deal with changing my SE password several times a week ( although I've now added the security token since this latest occurrence). Got the error message - suspicious activity etc - went to check email, no email. Waited. Waited longer. No email. Called SE in London. First question she asks, is AOL your email provider because they're currently blocking all Square Enix emails to all customers. So I go scream at AOL who tell me, no I can't have my email. Long argument about how they'd got no right to do that (imagine if your postman tried it?!). Called SE back, they said I could change my email address. I had to email them a photo of my passport (not my face, just the name and birth date) which I sent from the new email address I wanted to use. They emailed me back once it was changed, and the password reset arrived as soon as I requested it. But, yeah, I had rage - with AOL tho, rather than SE. Hope this route will be helpful to you.
