    i110 Pentamelds...

So when I first did my pentamelds, I did them on the cheap. I had a friend who all but made them for free for me, and I was poor, so I did Fending set since STR materia was MUCH MUCH cheaper at the time, and focused pretty much on just getting my dual stats + accuracy enough to hit things.

Since then, months later... I find myself considering doing the I110 STR accessories, but I'm not really any less cheap. Right now My set works in a few different combinations that give me exactly 558 accuracy and enough Skill Speed to get my 9 hit. This close, not sure I'd gain much doing another set, in terms of DPS output.

Question is.. would I even notice the subtle changes of "doing it right" vs, just getting it done. And as extra info, I have about 1mil in gil, which ain't much when it comes to these sorta things.

I wouldn't bother. The 60 cap is right around the corner and the i110s are useful in only a couple fights, T13 and savage turns.

You wouldn't notice much of a difference. Cheap melds are only slightly worse than max melds. Save your gil.

Honestly, I'd leave it be. The last few points of whatever that you get out of doing the more expensive melds probably isn't worth the cost. If you already have serviceable accessories, just hang onto those for the time being. ^^

    The Awesomeness
Having dual-stat accessories is undeniably awesome. You'll see much of the difference if you stacked all 5 of them and maximizing all primary stat allocations. You can do the (IV+IV+III+III+III) combination- prioritizing primary stats.

Instead of stacking lots of determination, the STR gives you dramatic increase in DPS. Plus STR benefits your Parry or Block and Threat generation.

If you're a fan of parsing stuffs, you'll see your DPS increase from +40 to +90~ depending on how you perform. (Given that full-vit strikes for 150-180 dps) Without sacrificing too much Vit for Slaying Accessories.

    The Suffering
It is gil consuming of course. Plus heavy RNG will piss you off. Since pentamelds will give you less than 30% after safety melds which also decreases accordingly.

It's still your personal choice though. Do whatever you like.

Every level IV materia you break on an over meld is the Law of Diminishing Marginal Returns kicking you in the nuts. I personally just do a lvl IV in my guaranteed slot and 3's for most everything else. A level IV on the 2nd slot is an acceptable risk if you have Gil to burn. Beyond the 2nd meld, you are throwing a lot of Gil away for very little marginal benefit with IVs.

Go cheap since 3.0 will come soon. Making a gil sink will just hurt :c)

You don't even have the option of "doing it right" with 1m. The lowest I've spent on penta-melding a ring was more like 2.5m, was so happy about that. Kinda made up for the 8m I spent on another one...

I'm sure they're cheaper now, but idk about 1m for a piece let alone a set.

Tier 5 materia are also incoming, would really suck to blow gil on them right now then find out @ 3.0 you could've done better cheaper.
