Triple Triad questions (been a while)

I haven't played TT in a while, even after platinum packs came out.

Since I'm not going to go through and read every TT thread here to find my answer, I posted new thread to ask.

I was wondering if it's possible to get a platinum pack by winning all 15 matches against King Elmer? And if so is he the only NPC you can win against 15 times to get a pack or is there another that would also get you enough points for a pack? Right now I am 4 cards short of 60, so I don't think beating King Elmer 15 times in a row without final upgrade is possible. Yes I know he can be defeated consistently with a low level deck, but you won't win every game doing that. You'd probably only win 6 of every 10 games if I remember right from back when I worked on getting Bahamut. Others will either be draw or loss.

Basically I'm wanting to know if it's possible to get enough points for a platinum pack without final deck upgrade and through NPCs?

If I had to guess, I'd say every 1k points is a platinum pack. Going off of my score and rewards from last tournament.

I wouldn't risk trying to beat an NPC consistently enough depending on the rule set to try to get 1k, let alone 2 or 3k.

Okay thanks. That means I can get at least 1 pack. I don't plan on playing players until I get final deck upgrade. I can get 1k points from beating the NPC at the left side of the entrance to TT area on opposite side from tournament board, left side facing King Elmer's direction. Forgot name of that NPC, but I did it a while back for 15 straight wins. Of course that was before you could get a platinum pack for it.

A few things:

1. You get 45 matches to play now.
2. Platinum card rewards are based solely off of point totals. If you plan to get your points through NPCs, it's highly recommended you play only the ones you can consistently win against. Losing against Elmer is worth fewer points than beating Jack.
3. The rules for the current tournament are Roulette/Roulette and these will replace Elmer's normal rules (Plus/Same, I think?). Elmer is currently a slightly less annoying version of Tataru.

Yeah double roulette is going to be super risky against any NPC that's worth playing.

i normally just duel npc for tournaments cause win selling is still going on lol and current tournament i got 38/45 wins only 1s i lost are random.. shame i didnt get reverse + random would of been alot better :P same as previous tournament only lost 1 match vs npc n got 3 card packs :3

Playing Elmer with double roulette isn't worth the paltry amount of tourney point increase you get from just playing one of the other TT people in the area.

Sorry I don't remember their names. Same area that Elmer is in (lowered platform behind the TT trader)

That NPC gives you 86pts per win as opposed to 91pts from Elmer and is much easier to beat.
