would be easy to stop they just have to put in all the know site names in a filter
and block them

Won't work, as SE already tried this very idea with FFXI years ago - it only stopped the RMT for a week before the gilsellers realized what was being blocked and thus they simply adjusted how they wrote the url in the tell (substiuting certain letters like 'w' for numbers, and including directions on how to access their RMT site within the tell.).

It basically shows that no matter what RMT do, it's a never-ending battle where a change is made to stop them which the RMT find ways around.

He's talking about their actual names, not what they send in tells. You see, when they make their name the same url as their website, they just have to send a friend request to you and they'll have their website right in the corner of your screen until you go and decline their friend request.

Even though it does no good sometimes I yell back at them. It occasionally relieves my irritation. >_> <_<

I would like a personalized filter for words that people can place in them selves. ones you can write out and auto block them. Now how that could, if at all be implemented is something I couldn't say. but food for thought. The friend requests are bad though for me personally I find them very invasive and I report them all (which another subject on how long it takes to do that) anyways. I support anyway we can have some sort of filter system. cos it is driving me crazy

Or they can implement an autoblock on friend requests so we dont get them at all. You know, like players have been asking for years now!

Yeah, filters are only a temporary solution. There are always ways to get around them, by changing characters for something else or simply rearranging them. What they need is to block the IPs of the ones creating the characters in the first place.

I will still take spam filters and the option to auto reject friend invites if they were both offered. I also would like the option to just allow player on my friendslist or fc or ls to send me tells and not some random person. MMO or not , many other mmos have this feature for those ppl who just don't want to be bothered. I count RMT as bothering me. I put it like this. Would SE rather give me an option to block rmt tells or see 3 of my paying subs leave because they wont? It's an easy financial one on their end. I hope they make the right decision soon.
