How is that more fun? You seem to have completely missed the point.

In any event, it doesn't change the fact that winning against a PC gives significantly more than winning against an NPC.

I won't be putting name this time lol, learn the hard way with a 7 days ban on forum last time. But on my server, it's the same people at it every week and the current top score is in the 6000+ Beating King Elmer once only gave me 97 points. Therefore, for people who don't cheat, there is absolutely no way to get in the 1-3 position. I have stop playing it completely because they keep making the tournament take more and more match and each match frustrate me beyond reason knowing those cheater are getting away with the booty.

sure, but theres noone who wins 45 times versus a pc, except he has godlike luck with both roulette rules. In the end its safer and way faster to beat the npc to get your 3-4 plat packs + 20k mgp. As long as ppl wintrade theres no way to have fun in tournaments, so why bother with pcs if npcs are the way to go to reach the goal safe

On Adamantoise our top couple spots aren't just TT win-traders, they're also bots. They live in the chocobo race area and if you interrupt their scripts by trading with them they flip out, throw random items in there, and run up against walls.

Disregarding the cheaters. How do i get to the top playing fairly? The only time i got 130 points per win was when i beat a buy who was 20-0, but subsequent but that dropped to 100ish rather quick. Playing people who are 0-0 yields 121 points but subsequent wins are 100ish again. Even beating 45 people with 0-0 records doesn't put me in first place on my server. Sometimes it will, other times it won't. I haven't bothered with TT because of the cheaters and the opaque scoring system.

Does having a better deck yield more tourney points? Is there a way to know how to optimize how many points i get? I'm not playing to have fun or for the cards. All i want is a fenrir mount and for that i don't want to play people who yield only 100 points, barely landing in the top 20 if even.

Against NPCs, bonus point are determined by how strong your deck is. They reversed things in 2.55 so that a weaker deck gives more bonus points.

I can't say if the same applies to playing other players, but against NPCs each extra star is one less bonus point.

I'm not looking to play vs NPC, beating elmer won't get me into the top 3. I want to play against people but i need to determine who is worth playing an who isn't.

My own experiments, the least amount of points you can get against against a human player, even one with dozens of losses is 89. The bonus seems more dependent on the game mode since we both used the same deck over and over again. 100-105 after bonus.

This guy was saying he was getting 130 points per win, how could he get that much, chances are no one will share the secret since the people who figured out how thee tourney system works are currently exploiting it by selling wins. As it stands right now however, for thee next tournament i won't play anyone who doesn't offer 100 points without bonus.
