Ahhhh, another tournament, another bout of cheating.
Ahhhh, another tournament, another bout of cheating.
Its not cheating, its exploiting a broken system. First off when has there ever been a "Tournament" where you get to choose your opponent, secondly even if their was an actual tournament system it would take up too much of SE time to run properly. I hate the boosters as much as the rest of us, but thats the world we live in.
I'm not going to argue any of that, but when I login my wife's characters to feed me wins I definitely feel like I'm cheating and it annoys me that this is pretty much the only way for me to finish my card collection.
Just do it all. It's the only way it may vanish. Many people exploit every time, others gets annoyed, may write tickets about it -> changing the system.
Until then it is simple: When you play without it, you have no chance.
1. Its not cheating
2. This guy can possible still be beaten but itll be hard
Secret #1 - Everyone in the top 10 gives bonus points, therefore, early birds get the best placement (start at reset or when servers go up after maint, and you got an advantage over everyone else)
Secret #2 - His average is only 125.49, its possible to have an average of 135+. So its possible to break the 6k score.
It's not cheating. SE knows this is prevalent but have yet to fix it so they decided to give everyone "ribbons" so tourneys won't look "as" embarrassingly terrible.
Yeah, the dude on our server is at 6,197 and he does it right when the tourney goes up every Tuesday. He had 6 of his feeder alts in the top 15, some with even less wins then the 2nd place on OP's picture but still well over 3k points.
People see that and know they have no chance of getting first without running the same kind of network.
Now that platinum packs are a thing, I'm not too worried about placing top 20, even though I normally do and I do it without cheating. I don't even mind that this guy continues to get the large MGP payout every week because I will still get Fenrir before him (if he's even going for it). The thing that discourages me the most is that every week it gets harder and harder to find real opponents because everyone is just NPC'ing their tournament allotment now as they feel they don't have a chance. And no one wants to lose to a real player, else they might not break the point threshold and get 2 packs instead of 3.
I enjoy playing people because AI is very predictable. Double roulette is awesome, but I've been hitting up the GS all week trying to get games and I've only been able to play 20 games with 12W/2L/6D against legit players and a few of those were mercy rematches because the random rule applied and my random hand destroyed my opponent's.
It's just....disappointing.
looking for 45 other players takes ages of time, if you dont want to duel every person with less than 90 base pts. I think most casual player dont have the time to search 45 worthy opponents, so they just defeat npcs and get their 3-4 platinum packs + 20k mgp anyway
in the end there are only two kind of people: tryhards aka wintrader and those who just beat npcs
only the utter minority will play the tournaments how they were intended to be, which gives no opportunity over beating npcs in the end
I admit I stopped caring about playing players for points in tournaments now since I know the win buyers and exploiters will cheat their way to the top positions and most of the time push legitimate players out of the top 10, so I just NPC battle 99% of the matches and just play people few times just for a break from NPC matches occasionally. I am glad for the platinum packs but this is not how a tournament should run, the tournament is very broken and the platinum packs are nothing more than a way to make people feel less bitter about it being such.
I hope this isn't true and I'm not an 'utter minority'. This tournament has been great fun to play against PCs due to the constantly changing rules and I hope for more of the same. As long as you spread your matches over the week it shouldn't be too hard to find enough players - about 2/3rds of mine were, and I finished yesterday. It was also noticeable that PCs give significantly more points than NPCs, which helps with Platinum packs and MGP. I've ended on 28 wins and 3879 points.
