I don't like the fact that new players must do the main storyline up to 2.55 to access the new content. I actually like that they have to see the story... however...

Can you please take the 150 quests and just make them 15? 90% of the quests and the main storyline are basicly fetch quests, or stuff that a Hero of Light would never do. Are we not suppost to be heroes? Well we are about as heroic as the Moogle Mailbox.

Please reduce the quests and cull them completely. That way new players can enjoy the story and not have to sit through mindless hours upon hours of repetitive and silly quests like...

The only quests in the main story-line should be ones that promote and move the story forward.

Uh, honestly if we do that why not just remove all pre 3.0 quests, hell well we are at it lets start them off with 500k gil. I mean it's a nice idea, but it's an expansion not another base game. Which means the conntent in the expansion will not be as extensive as the best game. AKA a month if not less after release people will be on here saying "what else is there to do" I really rather they leave all as is. I'm against locking out the jobs, but some people like the story. Some people like exploring the world through quests, and some people just like feeling like there is so much to do.

In my personal opinion, the real heroes are the people who never think they are too important to do little things for others...

(In short, I don't think those quests should be cut. And yes, they are dull to actually play through, but they're also not that agonizingly time-consuming. Taking a week to catch up or so will not kill anyone.)

Some people find hurting and harming themselves not agonizing. However I am not such a masochist, some of these quests are absolutely painful.

...err, did you just qualify your argument by comparing it to self harming? Door's on your left, don't let it hit you upon your hasty exit.

Most of the 'errand' quests take literally a couple of minutes to beat. If that. Further, many of them also have plot devices told through them or act as a segue to the next main story. Not every single mission you go on needs to be some major life or death situation, and to be honest it would get plenty dull if that were the case. I'm guessing you don't play many other MMO's either, since most of them tend to be filler with very little plot. You're always going to be the errand girl or errand boy in an MMO.

lets also add to that let them use their 5 freebies on any future job id be willing to make an alt if I can get a lvl 50 blue mage and I hate alts.
