Because they cleared when the content was new, jumping blind to a new fight it's ok, because it's new content. Jumping blind to a fight one year old is incredibly rude and it's very understandable that the other 7 players don't want to forced to deal with it.
Want to jump blind to old stuff? make a learning group in the PF.

No, you are rude. It's still new content for players new to it. It does not matter if it's one year old content to others.

This isnt even about people going into something blindly. It's about there being an actual server-delay between actions. This is a major thing especially for healers, since they cant spot change positions without a delay due to casting and health focusing, like dps can.

If you can't be bothered to at least watch a short video or read about the fight, sure, w/e.

But if you don't even have the decency to announce to the group that you are new and have no idea what to do so people can give you a quick run down, you are going to cause everyone in the group head aches or be a complete carry.

Exactly. Somehow new players in content think someone typing a text wall for them before each pull is better learning method than watching a video where someone talks you through the whole fight step by step with pictures and all.

    Some ppl are just silly.

And to top it off they get indignant and rude when you give them sound advice. Its like the OP said, ppl have a inner defensive voice too, they don't want to be real with themselves and think maybe their method of learning is wrong and maybe their at fault instead of the ppl telling them how to get good.

    Silly silly

Go and research learning styles, people are very different in how they learn best. Videos don't help everyone, aside the fact that they completely ruin the fun in things being -surprising and new-

Videos teach me nothing, and the few times I ever watched them, made things worse as the way I mange my camera is different, my preferred position any time it's not determined by a mechanic is different... (Boss the right, I move towards the camera for flank skills). I'm far from the only person to be like this.

Honestly, at times I wish I could rote memorise entire boss fights, but its simply not a thing I can do, it's largely reflex from memory.

Practical is the way I learn, usually quickly. Text guides help a little, but only so much. (I'll usually remember skillnames and a general idea of what they do etc.)

If you at least understand the mechanics going into the fight, you are ahead of the majority of people who like to just go in blind and derp.

Believe it or not, I'm the same way. I learn better from doing than from watching a video. But watching a video is still enough to give me the general idea about how a mechanic works and what it's for. A good example is Spiny in Garuda EX. There is no way that a fresh person will EVER randomly succeed at this mechanic. They will kill spiny because killing adds is what you're supposed to do 99.9% of the time. If they had watched a video, it would've saved the group at least one wipe (or at least save other party members having to explain "don't kill spiny!").

So anyway, I'm not suggesting that all people learn the same way. Some will get more out of videos than others but I believe you would be hard pressed to find a person who would learn NOTHING from having watched a video.

Elitist attitude at its finest. The irony here is that this game is very easy to play.
Also, might I enquire what you know of decency? You dont seem to know much about it.

It hasnt improved. Funny indeed. After coming to ARR from WoW I had to adjust quite a bit, the delay is that bad.

It very much has improved. Its still worse than other games, but the statistical delay between server pings was 3 times as far apart on launch as they are now.

Are you sure you are not just measuring your personal experiences, or even hearsay? Because if the delay was 3 times as much as it is now, I'd personally have no window to get out of many aoe abilities at all.
Because as it is for some abilities the delay is a third or even half the actual casting time on the ability..
