This is entirely your opinion. Some people actually care.

It's not so much of a server issue it's a disjoint between the cast bars and animations going off, if you're still in the area of effect when the cast bar ends you will get knocked into oblivion. It's best to keep the boss on focus target for mechanics like these.
This all coming from an Australian who uses a VPN and plays on a Canadian server.

This is a really good post and I think more people should reflect and adjust based on this advice.

I remember my first Titan EX attempts with sorrow. No matter how hard I tried, how many guides I'd watch or how much I'd learn the rotation, eventually WotL would get me. I thought it was latency, no one believed me. I have been scorned and insulted, told the worst kinds of stuff I thought I'd ever hear over a videogame.
Then someone told me of WTFast, so I gave it a try and, what do you know? I cleared Titan EX on my first attempt. I was so glad, because I had been told so many bad things, I had come to think I was actually a bad player, and that I'd be forever be a bad player, because what I had been doing was my very best. Thankfully it turned out that wasn't such case, and that it was really only my connection speed.
So yes, sometimes IT REALLY IS latency. Take a moment and consider that maybe people are not lying about it, before you call them liars over and over and over until they actually start to believe you and think it's their own fault.
If there's one last thing I have to say about the topic is that I hope SE learns their lesson and never makes such awful ping-check fights, because not everyone lives at the feet of a data center. I mean, seriously, I was able to clear Twintania without WTFast, and not Titan EX. That's some awfully programmed fight there.
I am not one of those players who says nasty things if someone keeps dying. I don't believe that is ever helpful. Nor do I think players who say they are lagging are lying. I just don't care why the issue exists. It exists, it's causing a problem, and it's pulling everyone else down.
That being said, you exemplify many of the things I was talking about in my OP: you thought you were bad (fixed mindset), you had started to believe what others were telling you (internal critic), BUT importantly, you looked for a solution and found one (personal accountability). Props for your doing this. Players can and should find other solutions than queuing into DF and hoping 7 other players will carry them.

This isn't simply about the "watch a video" vs "don't watch a video" crowd.
Personally, I think it's a little bit from Column A and a little bit from Column B.
Players by and large need to have more personal responsibility, a lot more if you ask me. They need to man up when they make mistakes and they need to be careful of their actions and reactions. We are all people behind this screen and everyone should be treated with respect. So if someone says that they may be lagging, don't jump down their throat. It could very well be true, and probably is true given how crappy some ISPs are. However, if you are lagging you should also politely excuse yourself from that group until the lag clears or you find a different solution.
Lastly, many of the problems that groups experience can be solved if players simply bothered to communicate more.

And there's that thing called lag... cool story though.
I say sorry lagging every time I die.
Even when it is because I was afk in WOD with eos out.

"Sorry Mr Police Officer. Didn't mean to run that stop sign. I must have been lagging"

"I was out of that" seems to happen a lot. I had to do Titan HM the other day, 99% of the time I only get hit by tumults/goad. Anyways I dodged everything and then I ended up getting hit with WotL, I was like wtf I was out of that.....didn't say that in chat but out loud (didn't die).
Lag really happens, I really hope in 3.0 there are less instant death mechanics. Yoshida seems to think Instant Death is what it takes to make this game hard.
