Moreover: this whole "watch a video" attitude is just mind-boggling. Makes me think that people like that literally can't imagine a world without YouTube and Twitch and MrHappy and whoever else - that they can't imagine that videogames existed before the internet, and people were able to play and complete them. It was not that long ago, y'know?

Again, I'll reiterate that it's not a "watch a video" attitude, it's a "use whatever tools are available" attitude. I'm 35 years old. I don't have to imagine a world without YouTube, I actually lived in it, you know? But I'm not averse to using new tools as they become available.

Also, you can't compare MMOs to other video games (or even modern MMOs to MMOs of the past). Fights are heavily mechanics driven and require the knowledge of said mechanics to clear AND you're playing with other people. What you do affects them too.

I agree that players can prepare (or not prepare) however they want for DF but there is an incentive for watching a video first. You will perform better and your group will be less likely to disband. If either of these things seems undesirable to you, then please, by all means, continue to be stubborn about not watching a video.

Titan Ex has been my Achilles heel. So I watched the videos, I have studied the strats I have come very close to completing it. I can't get group to stay together long enough. We make progress, but people bail then other do not want to wait. I am often the last man standing now but I did have to turn performance stuff(graphics) down until I achieved well over 60 FPS because I would move before everyone, be farther out than everyone but I would get hit. This was very frustrating, because I have exceptional situational awareness.

Tell me more about the jumping and actions. Jump from inside and land outside the poop? Casting an instant spell as soon as I am out of the poop a good thing? The thing is I have no lag, I don't stutter, I run 40 FPS in Mor Dohna with max settings on everything. I hate having to turn stuff down just to try and get through Titan Ex(but I do). Titan Ex is only problem I have had in this game avoiding a mechanic. Titan Ex also has the worst behavior I have witnessed in game, people often bail after one failed try and no one wants to even wait to allow me explain things to new people, they just go.

People also frustrate me as well. Don't show up to this with 4k hp, you have to play too perfect and MP is too precious to raise you over and over. If you are person who struggles to learn mechanics this is one fight that you should watch the video a number of times. It is not fair to everyone else to wipe over and over because of you. I know certain people learn better from trying, I get that, but I call complete BS from the people saying there is no benefit to knowing what is going to happen in each stage by watching a few different groups do it via youtube. Knowing what is going to happen before it happens is the key to succeeding at these fights. When you are proactive rather than reactive is key.

TLDR If you are a monster player, fine go in blind. If you try it and ruin the experience of 7 other people go study and show up well above the minimum gear next time.

I hate this mind set. I often wonder how did the first group doing Titan ever clear it without watching a video, and did they make a video while they did it so the second group could watch and so on?

When content first comes out people expect to wipe for hours on new raids or primals (well, not so much primals anymore...). But by month 6 people don't want to have to experience that.

So after 6 months then nobody is privy to the game play that existed in the prior 6 months? After 6 months no new players that have just reached that content is allowed to enjoy the game the way everyone in the prior 6 months did? After 6 months everyone new must watch videos or read guides on their game instead of play it? Because your time is more valuable than theirs?

Expecting one shot clears using the DF is a tad bit presumptuous.

Not that I encourage picking on new players and not teaching them (I love teaching), but when the content came out everyone was on the same page. Now, there is a mix of people who understand the fight and have done it X times, and new players. Those new players do have the option to look up what they're queueing for beforehand, whereas we originally didn't. This is the difference and why some people are frustrated with teaching something they learned a long time ago just to get through it again.

Exactly, its an option. Meaning not everyone is going to do it for what ever reason, nor should they be expected to.

If ur gonna use that phrase a lot u might aswell be a dps lol.
At least the run is still salvageable if you die cuz when shit goes down as a healer or tank, you know the run is dead due to being too low hp ( for tanks or healers trying to reach hp check ) or healers going oom due to being dead. Only applies if ur group isn't geared to the teeth lol.
Imagine any group with 70% of ppl meeting minimal ilvl entrance.

Obviously lag is a thing and it happens, but we all know it has become the de facto excuse when someone screws up.

If it really is the lag, do everyone a favor and don't queue until your connection improves.

Because they cleared when the content was new, jumping blind to a new fight it's ok, because it's new content. Jumping blind to a fight one year old is incredibly rude and it's very understandable that the other 7 players don't want to forced to deal with it.
