How about no. It should be earned, and it should remain that way. It's a reward for people who actually dedicate time to it and enjoy that type of content.
This.
Beyond that, handing out the themed PvP gear (no one cares about pre i100 since they're just recolored skins) for free will strangle what little life remains in the queue.
I don't see why they wouldn't change it considering that they removed the cap on Direwolf back in 2.4. I mean, I played a lot for the gear that I have but it'd be nice to focus on something completely new rather than try to maintain some sort of exclusivity for old gear. Seems only natural that they'll be unlocking it again with the introduction of a new rank cap and new gear.

Except for the fact the i70/i90 weren't unique designs, rather recolors and re-textures of other armor pieces. I don't see them, and don't want to see them, hand out Coil (or any raid gear for that matter) either. You go and earn it, whether if it's new or old. My stand on the matter anyway.I don't see why they wouldn't change it considering that they removed the cap on Direwolf back in 2.4. Direwolf only redesign from ilvl90 craft outfit while Werewolf outfit is pure from PvP. It's not fair for high-ranked player who barely sane to wait Frontline queue while new player can enjoy it in some run.I don't see why they wouldn't change it considering that they removed the cap on Direwolf back in 2.4. I know that Direwolf sets were just 'reskins' but I don't think that SE will think of things like that. It's the same with anything that you can purchase with currency in this game, eventually they'll end up available to everyone in some form, it's just a matter of when. I don't think PvP gear is necessarily on the same level as coil since you don't have to rely on random drops for it (same case for CT/ST/WoD) and you have always been able to pick and choose what you want to buy from a vendor at the Wolves' Den Pier, but I see what you mean. I'm just saying that I highly doubt they'll keep the rank requirement there since there's going to be a new set that has a rank requirement come late July.

What you are not taking into consideration is what the new ilvl cap will be. If its 150 or hopefully 170+ that gear won't be cap. So they can keep it as vanity gear. Now if the ilvl is 130(please no) then that would be good starter sets.
Hmm, you mean for the new map? I kinda doubt that the item level cap for the new map will be too high... I mean considering what it was when the original map launched, I could see it being 110/115/130 BUT when you think about how you have to be i140~ to even do the 60 instance for the story, I wonder if it'll be around there?
Whatever the case is, I'm a little worried now. Gearing for this is going to be... interesting. If they make it too high, all previous gear for PvP is useless and rank 50 or whatever will mean starting from square one O_O~

i160 or i170 seems like the sensible place to sync to with the new PvP gear being i170/i180 with a Morale that puts it equal to Savage Alexander gear.
