Hi Echidne. I can see from your character page this is your first class. Welcome to the game![]()
As for levelling, at this stage you have a lot of main story missions, and also side quests you can go through. Don't worry too much about fast levelling, just enjoy the game and the story, learn the ins and outs of the games features and systems, and you'll level up as you go.
Aside from that advice, i'll offer this:
Fates are a great way to level, and will spawn randomly in the areas you are in.
Levequests are unlocked at level 10 if i remember rightly, and are another option.
Your hunting log is a great way for some early experience!
At level 15 or 16, you will be able to access your first dungeon, which will allow you to gain gear and experience too![]()
Good luck to you, and if you need any help there are some great threads on this forum, and google will turn up some awesome info sites too.
Once you start unlocking dungeons, those will be by far the fastest way to level up. (Especially if you stick with Marauder as your main class. As a tank, you can get a spot in dungeon groups much faster than damage dealers.) Don't neglect the main scenario quests, though, because those are what unlock new content, as well as having the main story of the game.
If you haven't reached the first trio of dungeons yet, then just focusing on the quests is the best way to both level up and advance to where you'll unlock them.
Besides dungeons and quests, your hunting log and FATEs are both good sources for XP. (And once you join a Grand Company, the FATEs will also become a major source of GC Seals.)
What are you doing that you are getting level slow and what you mean about slow? What do you expect?
I love the official forums, they tell you to use the search for thread about what you wanted to talk but when you use it they judge for necro a thread.

Hello!
The Main Story Quests, as well as your class quests which you get from the Marauder's Guild in your starting city (they are unlocked every 5 levels), give a chunk of XP to help you level quickly. I'm leveling up an alt character and the quests along with a few hunt log completions have gotten me from levels 1-15 within a couple of hours, so I'm going to guess you might be a little behind on the story. To unlock the hunting log, do the lv. 5 quest at the Marauder's Guild.
I can't speak for other MMOs, but following the MSQ is important in this to unlock future content. Remember it's this icon:
So completing that and dungeons nearest to your level are probably the fastest way on your first class. Running low level roulette each day is really helpful too.

when you get to 15. a run through a level appropriate or even slightly lower leveled dungeon is a nearly guaranteed level up. as long as you aren't required to level synch, plus dungeons offer epic gear. this is generally a good incentive to join a guild. and once you get your "job". you can gain your first level 50 and make leveling the others a lot easier. i'm new too, and i am a member of quite a fine free company with my cousin and her friends
Try find some good free company and ask people around, don't send tell because they might be lock it due to RMT.
If you're on my server we can meet and guide you, but unfortunately not. There will be a nice player there.
First priority thing in this game is Find good friends and Free Company, they are the main reason you will enjoy this game or not.
I'm not sure how fast you're gaining levels. My first day I played I got to level 8 (I remember as I took a screenshot at the end of my first day, haha). That was by doing main story quests, class quests, and doing all the quests I had access to around Gridania at the time. I only played for maybe three, four hours as well.
But like everyone has said, it'll pick up once you get to do dungeons. Following the main story also is a good way to level. If you're diligent and play a lot every day it's not weird to get to 50 within a week.

Clearly, the best Final Fantasy character is Locke Cole.
Glamour is TRUE ENDGAME
I just started 3 weeks ago and average 1-3 hours a day and some days no time at all and I'm lvl 47 almost 49. Start doing fates and avoiding every single side quest that gains you only 50-100 exp. My sub class took me two hours to get to lvl 15 and could of been less if I didn't keep going back for the job quests.
