Makes sense... they would likely have whatever new "relics" we are going to be aiming for in Heavensward.
Seems it would be more accurate to say they will not have Zodiac relics?
edit:
Translation: The new jobs will not have Zodiac weapons. (ゾディアックウェポン is specifically "zodiac weapon", the English words, represented in katakana).新ジョブのゾディアックウェポンは無いってさ。

This matches what they did in FFXI - new jobs after CoP did not have relics, but did have the new Mythics, and then later, all jobs got access to Empyrean weapons.
Thank god for this! I was contemplating will I have to do the relic quest again on DRK or MCN just for the sake of whatever added perk they are supposed to give to the people who completed zodiac that they mentioned.
It better not be just another quest line reskin of the zodiac 2.x wep.
I'm sure ppl r gonna unsub if they pull another pre nerfed atma grind step.
Strangely enough Yoshi did mention a long long time ago (pre release) that the (Relic)Zodiac weapons are supposed to be recurring designs offered only to the most powerful weapon of its generation so I wouldn't be surprised if the final incarnation of the 3.0 relics are just that, exact copies of the 2.0 zodiac zeta!
Although I do believe that things have changed significantly since then and they are unlikely to make a repeat, perhaps maybe one stage of the new relic will involve the previous piece and create a weapon that looks identical.
I believe this has been replaced with the Vanity system and simply those flashy weapons were the zodiacs.Originally Posted by Letter from the Producer LIVE Part VIII Q&A Summary (08/23/2013)
A: Currently, as we have quite a lot of equipment in ARR with high item levels, we are planning to discuss this afterwards. At launch we will have high-tier, unique looking equipment that elicits flashy effects, and we've reached the conclusion that there is no need to implement this system at this point in time. Also, in regards to the balance with other equipment when this system is implemented, we are imagining a system where you can change the appearance of equipment above a certain strength to be unique, so there is no need to worry about stat balancing with other equipment.
